windohhh!

Today I photographed the grand opening of former congressman and Hawaii gubernatorial candidate Neil Abercrombie’s grand opening of his campaign headquarters in Ward Warehouse.  For those of you who know the way and philosophy I approach my work, you know that I always like to think outside the box, visually and creatively.  While I photographed the madhouse of people who attended the opening (and by the way, I’ll probably be on all the TV news channels tonight because I found myself directly in the line of sight of the TV guys–not much I could do because of the lack of room to move), I came upon a neat, stained glass window.  The campaign headquarters was the former Stuart Anderson’s restaurant, and a lot of the interior remained intact–including this window.  Window.  Wind…OHHH!!!!!!!  I approached it with a wide angle, assessed what I saw through the window, and VOILA!

Pearl City resident John Triolo is seen in multiples through a mosaic glass window as he sits with his wife Carol during the grand opening of Hawaii gubernatorial candidate Neil Abercrombie's Campaign main headquarters on Saturday, March 6, 2010 at Ward Warehouse in Kakaako.
