Diamond in the Rough necklace of uncut stones, $65,000.
The 81st edition Neiman Marcus Christmas Book debuted this week, so I’m sitting here making my list of what I’d like to see under my tree this year.
I don’t ask for much, so Santa, I’m going with one thing only, the 4-foot-long Diamond in the Rough chain necklace of uncut stones (about 62 carats) set in 18K gold. It’s $65,000.
In edition to the expected jewels, fashion and home wares, the luxury catalog is renowned for its annual roster of whimiscal, fantasy selections. This year, those gift items — for those who have everything and then some — include a his and hers chocolate portrait (Bosco syrup on canvas) by Brazilian artist Vik Muniz for $110,000, a 100-foot-long dragon topiary for $35,000, a swami fortune-telling robot ($75,000), a Kirov Orchestra classical music concert presented in your hometown for you and 499 of your friends (close to $1.6 million), and an NM-edition Gem Triton 1000 submarine ($1.44 million).

And if diamonds are a girl’s best friend, might as well get the biggest you can find. This one is a no-brainer for those who can appreciate the rough, subdued beauty of uncut diamonds. Up for grabs is a $1 million Diamond in the Rough necklace with a centerpiece of a 305.18-carat uncut diamond that sparkles with gold, green and amber tones.
Those with more down-to-earth budgets may find themselves joining the Juicy Couture charm-of-the-month club starting with a 14K gold-plated charm bracelet, with a delightful seasonal charm edition sent to the giftee each month. The gift’s cost is $495. Santa, if I can’t have the diamond necklace, I’ll settle for this.

I was listening to 102.7 the other day and they were talking about NM’s christmas catalog and the ridiculous items that they have in there. maybe they should offer britneys come back in there.

Ha! That’s funny. For $1 million she could come to your house and perform for 50 of your friends, only she’d probably throw up, pass out and you’d have to clean up after her.
