Ala Moana Centerstage was the scene of three 2010 spring retail runway shows over the weekend, part of the center’s annual Shop A Le’a spring shopping event. The first show took place 5 p.m. Saturday, and in case people missed it, repeated at 7 p.m. and again at 2 p.m. Sunday. The show was presented by Ala Moana magazine, and produced by Amos Kotomori with an assist from the Honolulu Community College Fashion Society. Hair and makeup was by Hoala Salon and Spa, formerly Aveda.
The show was billed as the magazine sprung to life, with eight segments built around some of the season’s trends, and those who saw something they liked on stage could head over to the stores to shop for the items.
On stage, from left, Kamakoa Page, Marisa Gey and Brigitte Patton.

Here’s a rundown of what was presented:

Tropical Punch: Isle-inspired fashion by DKNY, Kahala and Caché.
Cut it Out: Sexy, skin-baring styles from BCBG Max Azria and Bebe.
Natural Wonders: Nature-inspired prints from Banana Republic, Chico’s and Tapestries by Hauoli.
Geometry Class: Graphic designs and stripes from Banana Republic, T&C Surf Designs, Bebe, Max&Co. and 7 for all Mankind.
Strait-Laced: Lace accents from Wolford and BCBG Max Azria. (Yeah, yeah, the sign on the video reads “Straight Laced,” but I couldn’t let the spelling error pass. It’s one of my peeves.)
Art Major: Painterly prints and boho style from Max&Co. and Michael Kors.
Glamour Girl: Flirty, feminine apparel and accessories from T&C Surf Designs and Betsey Johnson.
