After a fiscal hiatus, the Narcissus Festival luncheon-fashion show rallied this year for one of the largest showcases of the event’s history, featuring the retro Hawaiiana mens’ and womenswear of Avanti, contemporary fashion by Blue Buddha, and a collection of Avanti collaborations and one-of-a-kind creations by 2Couture designers Eric Chandler and Takeo.

The Chinese Chamber of Commerce of Hawaii sponsored the event that took place March 13 at the Hilton Hawaiian Village Beach Resort & Spa’s Coral Ballroom.

The theme of the event was “Inspiration—A Prelude to a Centennial Celebration,” and between segments there was entertainment by Kristian Lei, young dynamo Ari Dalbert, and Circuit Court Judge Karl Sakamoto. Who knew the judge could sing? He surprised the all with his solo.

The 2011 Narcissus Queen Ningjin Miao, center, was there with her court, from left, third princess Stacey Mei Sen Lam, first princess Christina Ann Soo Hoo, second princess Jasmine Ka Wai Nip and fourth princess Erica Kwai Ying Lee.

With scarves from designers Eric Chandler and Takeo as favors, Emily Lopez ties one on to Gay Spatz’s wrist.

Of course, you can’t have a Narcissus Festival lunch and fashion show without narcissus centerpieces.
