UFC 109

I apologize to anybody that spent 50 bucks ordering UFC 109 on Saturday night. It’s a shame that the UFC thinks a Randy Couture/Mark Coleman main event is enough to ask people to shell out 50 bucks to watch. For an organization that lashes out against other organizations that put guys like Bobby Lashley, Herschel Walker and Kimbo Slice (of course, until he signed with the UFC) into a cage, asking 50 bucks for a main event featuring two dinosaurs fighting is kind of hypocritical.

I don’t care what Coleman and Couture have done in the past. They are legends and there’s no questioning that. But Mark Coleman does not belong in a UFC cage and hopefully the UFC isn’t serious putting Couture in the cage against a Mauricio Rua or Lyoto Machida at 205 pounds. What Couture did at 40 was amazing and he showed no signs of slowing down. He’s 46 now but more importantly, he looks it for the first time. The only thing that saved him on Saturday was Coleman looking like he was 73.

It’s a good thing the UFC has put together some incredible cards coming up, because for a card in Las Vegas the night before the Super Bowl, that was a very poor effort.

The new Zune browser is surprisingly good, but not as good as the iPod’s. It works well, but isn’t as fast as Safari, and has a clunkier interface. If you occasionally plan on using the web browser that’s not an issue, but if you’re planning to browse the web alot from your PMP then the iPod’s larger screen and better browser may be important.
