63%

Hawaii-born President Barack Obama’s job approval rating was 63 percent in the islands during the first six months of the year, according to Gallup, the highest of any state and second to the District of Columbia.

Only 13 states and DC gave Obama positive job approval ratings, however.

Political analysts in Hawaii are keeping any eye on Obama’s job approval rating in the islands because of the potential impact on down-ballot races in the November general election, especially the U.S. Senate campaign, where former Gov. Linda Lingle hopes to be the first Republican to represent Hawaii in the Senate since 1977.

Oh, forget Linda Lingle for Senate. Romney just appointed her to his campaign committee. LOL Like Hawaii would vote in the Furlough Queen to remove Dan Inouye as Chair of the Appropriations Committee, and stiff our own Pres. Obama? So, does that mean Linda Lingle changes out of her blue suits and back into her red ones again? Like we care.

Take a look at Pres. Obama’s ad, vetted by the Washington Post as accurate, which says that Romney’s tax proposal means that Romney pays less, while middle class families will pay more, an average of $2000 per year more.
