Birther Money

A brief item that appeared in Friday’s HuffPost Hill blog:

HAWAII 5-DOH: ALOHA REP TAKES MONEY FROM BIRTHER – Leading House birther Bill Posey, whose bill to require the president to produce his birth certificate will likely gain a host of co*sponsors* conspirators in the next Congress, kicked in $1,000 to the campaign of Charles Djou, who is running to hold his Hawaii seat. Djou, trailing his Democratic opponent Colleen Hanabusa, doesn’t exactly endear himself to Hawaii voters by associating himself with the movement that questions whether the president was actually born in the state Djou wants to continue representing in Congress. For the record, Djou campaign spokesman Daniel Son states unequivocally:

“Charles believes 100% that Barack Obama was born in Hawaii and is a U.S. Citizen.”

The only other time “birth certificate” was used in the same sentence as Djou’s name was his first week in Congress, when U.S. Rep. Barney Frank jokingly demanded that reporters examine the new congressman’s paperwork.

  1. OldDiver:

What is Charles Djou really telling his supporters in behind closed doors? Why would a birther give him money otherwise?

  2. Yoshi1940:

Disgusting for Djou to accept the Birther money. What an insult to Pres. Obama and the people of Hawaii!

  3. Michael:

There should be a ruling saying only those born and raised in Hawaii can comment.
