Farmlands endrosement

Mayoral candidate and former Gov. Ben Cayetano has been endorsed by an organization dedicated to preserving agricultural land and stopping the Ho’opili development project.

Cayetano is running against former city Managing Director Kirk Caldwell.

The Save Oahu Farmlands Alliance announced its endorsement Tuesday in a news release.

From the release:

Ben Cayetano has vigorously stated, before the Land Use Commission and many times elsewhere, that the paramount authority for preserving agricultural land is the injunction of the Hawai`i State Constitution “to conserve and protect agricultural lands, promote diversified agriculture, increase agricultural self-sufficiency and assure the availability of agriculturally suitable lands” (Article XI).

… Mr. Cayetano has a strong and lengthy record of service to the environmental preservation and management of our island.

On its website, the Alliance describes itself as a “pro-farm, pro-environment, and Hawaiian organizations and individuals, joined together for projects to save Oʻahu farmlands.”

the leader of this group must be keoni dudley, who is vehemently opposed to the hoopili development. this is stupid as cayatono cannot stop hoopili nor can he affect the development plans, as he will only serve one term in an attempt to kill rail. he has no plans to fight hoopili. this entity is foolish and archaeic. cayatono stated he is against hoopili and believes the any further development be made on the agricultural lands between wahiawa and north shore. this is more stupid, as kam hwy would have to be widened and the people who want to keep the country country will fight this suggestion.

More like Zoo endorsements from the Donkeys and Elephants.
