Lenny Klompus, the senior communications adviser to former Gov. Linda Lingle, is leaving his post in state House Minority Leader Gene Ward’s office at the end of the week.
Klompus said he plans to work in consulting and radio and has an outline for a book on the Lingle years. “It’s not going to be like the Cayetano book,” he said of former Gov. Ben Cayetano’s no-holds-barred autobiography.
He said the book would likely focus on what it is like making the transition from the private sector to public service.

“Consulting”? As in “Consulting on Lingle’s future senate campaign?”

As many copies as Ben sold, should’ve been more “talk of the town,” you ask a Grease. That was somethin’, that book. You know a non-fic’ book’s really good when you go back to re-read certain passages just for heck of it.
Klompus can situate whatever he wants on the cover of forthcoming book. No?

Forgive my skepticism, but I suspect it “would likely focus on” rehabilitating Lingle’s image in order to better-position her to run for higher office. A “Lingle Legacy Project.”
Let’s lock pinky fingers now: “Pull pay!” And bet whether his book will look more like what I am predicting or “on what it is like making the transition from the private sector to public service.”

I wonder if Lenny will answer why Lingle in October of 2010 said the budget deficit through 2013 will be $270 million and the day Abercrombie takes office he finds out the real number is $800 million.

It’s going to be a “goody-goody” book, extolling the virtures and success of the lingle years’ painting her in the most favorable light so people will only have good memories and feelings about her. This will try to repair her bad image of her governnorship so she can make a solid run at Akaka’s seat in 2012. Propaganda!!
