One final item that didn’t quite make it into the live blog …

Shortly after 11:30 p.m., as Peter Carlisle was giving a final TV interview, Kirk Caldwell paid a visit to his party headquarters. (Carlisle’s HQ is at Ward Plaza, across the street from Ward Warehouse where Caldwell’s HQ is located in the old Buffet 100 restaurant).

Caldwell offered a congratulatory handshake to Carlisle amid a throng of about 100 Carlisle backers who waited with their candidate until the third printout.

Caldwell and his wife, Donna Tanoue, and their daughter, Maya, all exchanged congratulatory handshakes with Carlisle and his wife, Judy.

Said Carlisle: “I’ll seek your advice frequently in the future, I hope you’ll give it to me.”

  2. Mahina:

Kirk Caldwell is an honorable gentleman. I’m sorry he didn’t prevail in this race but proud of him.

  3. Paula:

These are the conversations voters should be aware of. Honorable men play fair and acknowledge each other’s contributions and talents. Kirk has a lot to give to Honolulu. Let’s keep him busy somehow.

  4. FaSamoa:

Please seek advice from Ann Kobayashi and Ed Case more than Kirk Caldwell. Carlisle needs to meet and listen to citizens who have been bullied by Hannemann and undo some of the Mufi crap.

  5. Hina:

I agree with FaSamoa… Please, Peter, distance yourself from the Mufi connection! If anything, hire Mr.Prevedouros as an adviser.

  6. Michael:

    Red, White and Blue.
Whether it be the American Flag
    or our Hawaii State Flag.
