Prepared text of Gov. Neil Abercrombie’s 2012 State of the State address. Abercrombie went “off script” early on, asking for a moment of silence for the recent deaths of two Honolulu Police Department officers and re-introducing past governors. He also introduced Senate Sergeant-at-Arms Ben Villaflor.

    The guv is what us locals refer to as pilau. Say anything, do anything, just to get votes. Be nice during a campaign, than nasty when the votes are all counted. Nobody is in his canoe, so now he wants in in Coach Chow’s canoe. And btw, he’s crossing his fingers that sports fans won’t remember what he said about the NFL Pro Bowl. Let’s not forget how pilau he is.

    People wanted change and they got changes. People have a choice to tolerate or move. Learn to tread water or sink. Learn damage control to avoid sinking after hitting a reef.
