    Hawaii 31, USC 24

I am not naive. Is it a long shot? Of course. I understand USC makes Hawaii look small on paper. This prediction stems from my belief that Lane Kiffen should not be the HC at USC.

  2. kev-1:

BTW . . . just in case he gets in the game . . . GOOD LUCK COLT!!!

Here’s a link to a recent interview with him:

From my NCAA 11 game simulation the score was…..USC 31-UH 28….my prediction is USC 42-UH 10

  7. asahi:

    r u buying lunch?

    usc 45-28

  8. wes:

24 – 17 Hawaii. Dave now what is yours:-)?

  9. OldDiver:

After an epic defense battle both teams remained scoreless until late into the fourth quarter. With ten seconds left USC had the ball on their own twenty yard line. Matt Barkley trying to make a play scrambling for his life gets tackled in the end zone by a determined Cory Paredes who fought through two blocks and a missed holding penalty.

    UH 2
    USC 0

  10. mac fan:

UH Warriors 28, USC 20. Moniz, Pilares and of course, Sales will have monster games.

  11. Chicken Grease:

Is there a prize for this?

  12. wes:

Hey Dave, Hope traffic is not too bad…will be in section HH orange row 6…kind of up close and personal! Go Warriors.

  13. wes:

Sorry Dave I didn’t see your first post.

  14. Dave Reardon:

    7. OK, in response to Asahi, if someone does hit the score on the nose I will buy that person lunch (only the first person who picks that score).

  16. Dave Reardon:

I still owe the March Madness bracketologists, so maybe we’ll combine it.

  17. Hilo-Warrior:

My thinking how the game will go.

Hawaii win the toss and defers to the second half.

USC kick rtrn to the SC25
defense holds SC to a field goal on opening drive USC 3 UH 0
3 Yd TD Pass to Salas with 32sec left in the first USC 3 UH 7

    USC Fumbles ball UH recovers
UH Moniz throws INT in endzone
after INT UH Defense hold USC to a 3 and out
USC holds UH to a 3 and out. Dunnachie Punt to the 18 no return
USC TD with 38 second left in the second USC 10 UH 7
UH drives ball into USC territory ENOS misses 52 YD FG

    Halftime stats
USC Barkley 11/12 passing for 139 YDS and 1 TD
Tyler 8 Rushes for 48 YDS
Johnson 3 REC for 45 YDS
Woods 3 REC for 74 YDS 1 TD

UH Moniz 11/20 Passing for 150 YDS 1 TD 1 INT

Salas 5 REC 57 YDS and 1 TD

UH Recieves ball to start Second Half Returned to the UH 38
UH opening drive 20 YD TD Pass to Pilares USC 10 UH 14
USC no score in 3rd QTR USC 10 UH 14

USC scores early in the 4th USC 17 UH 14
UH Returns ball to uh 20
UH at the USC 41 goes for it on 4 and 6 Moniz Sacked with 1 minute left on the clock

USC runs the clock down USC 17 UH 14 in a heartbreaker

    Final Stats
    USC Barkley 17/19 179 Yds 1 TD
Tyler 17 Rushes for 90 YDS 1 TD
    Johnson 4 Rec 54YDS
    Woods 4 REC 74 YDS 1 TD

    UH Moniz 19/31 260 YDS 2TD 1INT
Green 5 Rushes for 25 YDS
    Salas 9 REC 91 YDS 1 TD
    Pilares 7 REC 134 YDS 1 TD

Offensive line gives only one Sack all game which is the Sack the gives the win away.

Thats my thought based off a simulation on NCAA 11 on Heisman mode.

My wish is UH 31 USC 17

  18. OldDiver:

Dave, if the final score is UH 2, USC 0 I really think you should buy me a house.

  19. Dave Reardon:

    18. If Hilo-Warrior’s script comes out exact, I’ll have to buy him the Wynn.

  20. Howie from Maui:

    Rainbow Warriors 26 – 24 USC

  21. 808Dave:

    USC 48
    UH 13

    USC 27- UH 21

  23. islandstyl:

    USC 49
    UH 17

  24. wgw:

USC 3 – UH 2. It’s as likely score as anyone having UH winning the game. kev-1 wrote: “my belief that Lane Kiffen should not be the HC at USC.” I believe Coach Mack was a big mistake and should not be the HC at UH. It was an emotional decision to hire him after Jones, other coaches, Mullins, and Bess leaving. It was misguided attempt to hang on to the great season. But look at Jones coaching experience then look at Mack’s. It’s about as different as USC is to UH.

  25. kev-1:

My commment was only about Kiffen. I never stated my feelings about Mack. I’ll save those until the end of the year. I will say that when he was hired, I thought it was too impulsive and like you said, an attempt to hold on to the foundation that JJ laid. Didn’t work, but I still give him a chance to show us what he can do.

BTW . . . my opinion on Kiffen is not rooted in much else but my gut feeling.

  26. Steve Paschal:

Ok here it is…USC 39 UH 42 Win off a field goal by Enos

  27. Dave Reardon:

Both of tonight’s head coaches certainly have a lot of doubters.

  28. Manoa Mist:

    USC 54, UH 10.

  29. OldDiver:

Coach Mack could win this game and turn out to be Santa Claus and will still have doubters.

  30. kev-1:

that’s riduculous. everyone knows that Santa has a beard and lives in the north pole.

  31. Kapoho:

I predict that it will look a lot like the 08 Sugar Bowl with USC playing the part of Georgia. 41-10 USC.

  32. cocobean:

Whoever wins the battle of the trenches should prevail. It’s usually the big boys up front that determine the victor. If the O Line can do it’s job and play as a unit, the skill people will have a chance to make plays and score. If the D Line can hold their ground , get penetration then it’ll be hard for USC to make long, time consuming, punishing drives.
Recent history of the series has shown USC winning both sides of the line, allowing their play makers on both sides on the line to make plays. Only in their first meeting UH was able to go toe to toe with USC’s big boys up front. A break here or there and UH might have prevailed.
If history of the first game can repeat itself, UH has a punchers chance.

    UH wins 20-17.

  33. roysan16:

    To Coach Mack,

Continue working on your inner ki, inner energy.

To me watching, this is very noticeable. For your players they need to feed off your energy.

You approached this season, and this game, unlike any other. Low key, less hype, less talking. And instead focused more on building the inner energy. Phil Jackson does this.

For today’s game all the pent up energy uncork it on your opponent. Your players need to feed off of this. Uncork your all time pep speech before the game in getting the troops fired up before they go to battle, too.

You can do it. The Warriors can do it.

I pulling for an upset today. I hope every fortuitous bounce goes the Warrior’s way. I hope the players battle with all their hearts.

    Good luck, Coach Mack.

  35. OldDiver:

At stake today is a cheap lunch, a house or the Wynn Hotel & Resort Las Vegas. Whoo Hooo!

  36. Dave Reardon:

How do you know it would be cheap? On the rare occasions I do pick up a tab it’s usually at a decent place.

  37. Dave Reardon:

You can keep posting stuff here, but in a few minutes I’ll have a new live game blog started up.
