Excited about the World Series
By dreardon
The Giants and the Rangers. For people who don’t care that much about baseball and aren’t a fan of either team, a big shrug, right?
But if you like really good baseball and the multi-layered aspect of the game, this is a series for you. What these teams lack in star power outside of big names Josh Hamilton, Tim Lincecum and Cliff Lee, they make up for in gumption and baseball smarts.
There’s a cliche that baseball isn’t a team game, but rather a bunch of individuals doing their own thing who are on the same team. That may be true to some extent, but it’s also been said often that the 2010 Giants and Rangers are both collections of players that put it on the line for their teammates, and that’s why they’re the final two teams standing.
It will be fun to watch. I’m saying the Giants take it in 6 or 7 games, only because they have more pitching depth.

Its actually nice to see two teams that haven’t been there in a long time. I’m sick of seeing the same old teams in the series. I was pulling for Philly though.

Dave,
Philly broke my heart when they lost… They had so many chances in a couple of their losses. Too bad their offense peaked in the series before.
I wish both the Giants and Rangers luck. If Cliff Lee wins a couple of games, back up the Loomis truck to his house. He should be the highest paid picture in the history of baseball!

Lincecum can pitch, but he’s got the world’s worst mullet.
October 27th, 2010 at 3:00 pm
I don’t even think it qualifies as a mullet. I think my sister had that haircut when she was 11 years old.

Both Lincecum and Tom Brady need hair advice. Their features are too feminine for long hair like they’re sporting.

Remember Eckersley’s “Prince Valiant” ‘do?
I like Brian Wilson’s Bluto beard.

Dave, I’ve been a long time Giants fan and attended games at The Stick and AT&T Park. I’m trying to stay low key, though, because the memories of 1989 and 2002 are still fresh in my mind.

Giants have better pitching, but they also have a better bench. bochy has been playing the percentages all post season and he has the parts to do it. i still say the giants have to be careful because of molina. they will have to execute their pitches because at times the rangers are gonna know what’s coming. figured bochy would pitch the freak and cain in SF if washington started vlad, but it does mean two lefty’s in texas back to back. it also means sanchez in game seven, a little shaky in his starts against the phils.

That was a sloppy but entertaining game today. Giants bats hot at the right time.
Why the heck didn’t Lincecum throw the ball when he had the runner dead in the first inning? Got away with one there.

Yes it was a sloppy game–six errors committed by the two teams. I think it was nerves. The Rangers are playing in the World Series for the very first time and Vladimir Guerrero looking uncomfortable and out of position in right field. As for the Giants, they’re playing in front of an amped-up home crowd. I believe both teams will settle down and play better today.

Greetings, I have been to your website numerous times. I heard about it because of my son. I made a decision to publish a comment. My spouse and I enjoy a silly joke; for that reason I considered providing a nice joke with you not to mention your site visitors. There was a man who entered a local paper’s pun contest. He sent in ten different puns, in the hope that at least one of the puns would win. Unfortunately, no pun in ten did.
