Even before he rushed for an amazing 327 yards Saturday, Alex Green was fairly high on my list. Gary Allen is tops, with David Toloumu, Anthony Edgar, Travis Sims, Nate Ilaoa and Wilbert Haslip not far behind. Can’t leave out Peter Wilson, whose mark of 270 yards rushing in a game against BYU in 1950 stood until Green topped it Saturday against New Mexico State.
Tell me who is missing.

nu’u fa’aola, heikoti fakava, larry sherrer, david toloumu are definitely missing from this group. all had either nfl stints or long looks in the pros.

i only go so far back, so travis sims’ popeye calves and his 99 yard td run at UTEP that got called back by a bogus block in the back call, is my fave.

James Fenderson was like a human pin-ball machine. Great background story as well… living out of his van!

Fakava, Lopati and although not a running back, always thought Slotback Dane MacArthur was vastly underrated…That guy could run, catch, and lay some real crunching blocks…

Didn’t see they play, but Tommy Kaulukukui and Nolle Smith must be on the list. Kaulukukui an All-American in 1935 and Smith made made Little All-America in 1941.

used to love watching Wes Keliikipi run the rock. that was short lived, but it was fun to watch. doesn’t really compare with the others stats-wise though.
Definitely Fenderson for sure. Likes Sims a lot too.
