Navy football game with UH rescheduled … again

According to a report from the Naval Academy, the Midshipmen’s football game at Hawaii has been pushed back a week from Nov. 21 to Nov. 28. UH had an open date scheduled for the 28th, so this won’t cause more moves in the Warriors’ slate. I’m sure Greg McMackin would’ve liked to have the bye before playing Wisconsin the following week though.

This is the second move for this game. If you recall, UH and Navy were going to open the season, but Navy scheduled Ohio State and UH agreed to play after the WAC season instead of before it.

This game is a little more interesting for Hawaii fans than most nonconference games, since the Mids are now coached by former UH and Radford quarterback Ken Niumatalolo.

It looked like Castle grad Dean Wilson was going to finish safely under the projected cut line of 1-over today at the Sony Open. But Wilson faltered at the end of his second round at Waialae today and is 2-over.

Mililani High alum Mele French has been drafted by the Los Angeles team of the new women’s pro soccer league, according to Honolulu Bulls soccer club president Ken Perske.

Artie Wilson’s weekly radio show has really grown on me over the years. In addition to solid insight on UH basketball, he manages to make the NBA regular season interesting even to folks who aren’t pro hoops junkies.

Today he asked folks for their top five current NBA players. He got UH coach Bob Nash to weigh in on the topic.

Nash’s top five, in order: 1. Kobe Bryant. 2. LeBron James. 3. Tim Duncan. 4. Kevin Garnett. 5. Shaquille O’Neal.

I put LeBron ahead of Kobe, and would put Chris Paul in for one of the other three old big guys. What do you think? I’ll check in from Waialae later today.
