Dream screen

August 26th, 2011

Got to see the new scoreboard at the Stan Sheriff Center yesterday. Fans are going to love it;  the screen is beautiful and easy to view from everywhere in the arena. One of the cool features for volleyball is that there are now six spaces instead of five for the players’ numbers and stats. Kills are readily available, and blocks, aces and digs rotate every few seconds.

It’s hard to believe Kanani Danielson is a senior already. When her UH career ends this December she will undoubtedly have a place among the most impressive in the long list of Rainbow Wahine great players.

Agree with you about the scoreboard; it’s great. One of my friends who is a season ticket-holder did bring up a few drawbacks. It seems that the scoreboard doesn’t have the player’s stat blink when they make a kill or block the way the old scoreboard did. And he felt the scoreboard sometimes interjected a DIG stat instead of the KILL or BLOCK stat, which he found confusing.
