Name Game

The last few batches of UH football players we’ve featured in The Centurions project have included some of the guys with the best nicknames. Today, Lyle Nelson profiled No. 38 Harry “Clown” Kahuanui. In recent days, there’s also been No. 51 William “Doggie” Wise, No. 52 Theodore “Pump” Searle, No. 46 David “Mento” Maeva (and his wingman, Mike “Psycho” Tresler), and No. 54 Nate “Nasti” Ilaoa. There’s also No. 93 Don “Spud” Botelho.

My favorite is Dan “Iceman” Kelly (No. 92). What are yours? Tell us, and maybe we can put together another list.

Mark “WWF” or “Cross Bones” Odom.

I just loved it when he used to pound the turf 3 times to count the quarterback out after a sack or when he held his arns up and crossed them in an X. I still do the X when we get a big sack. I will never forget him. Hope he makes the Centurian list.

I simply needed to thank you very much yet again. I am not sure the things that I would have worked on in the absence of the tips contributed by you over that subject matter. It has been a traumatic setting in my opinion, but understanding your professional way you handled that forced me to weep for fulfillment. I’m happy for the information and then have high hopes you really know what a powerful job you were getting into instructing men and women by way of your web blog. I am certain you’ve never met all of us.
