Mariposa’s Heart Couture composed grilled shrimp salad contains 360 calories, with 12 grams of total fat, 3.5 grams of saturated fat,  165 miligrams of cholesterol, and 820 milligrams of sodium. It didn’t taste particularly salty, but let that be a gauge of how salty a typical restaurant dish can be.

For a little help getting on track with your diet for the new year, Mariposa restaurant, at Neiman Marcus, has added a selection of “Heart Couture” selections to its lunch menu. The dishes are billed as “healthier cuisine with a fashionable flair.”

The selections are a pasta fagioli soup by the cup ($5) or bowl ($7); a composed salad of grilled lemon shrimp, Maui romaine hearts, quinoa, chickpeas, feta and artichokes with light Greek vinaigrette ($18); seared King salmon fillet with roasted sweet potato ($22 and 430 calories); and vegetable sandwich with petite salad ($14).

Each dish is marked on the menu by a stylized red butterfly with heart-shaped wings, and comes with calorie counts and other nutrition information.

The tough part is trying to avoid dessert afterward, when a recent selection was eggnog poundcake topped with cinnamon ice cream.

Watch!, theofficial magazine of CBS, is featuring new recipes inspired by TV characters, including the Hawaii Mang-0 Cake inspired by Steve McGarrett of “Hawaii Five-0,” and The Maggie Q inspired by “Nikita.”

The recipes were developed by pastry chefs from the Dorchester Collection of luxury hotels, respectively Jean-Francois Suteau of The Beverly Hills Hotel and Giglio Imperiale of the Hotel Principe di Savoia, Milan.

Suteau said, “Since Steve McGarrett is the leader of an elite squad of agents protecting Hawaii’s lush natural heritage, the flavors and colors of the island’s mango, coconut and pineapple inspired me to create a refreshing and colorful pastry, all that I believe Hawaii represents.”

Imperiale said, “I created a square cake with a hard outside chocolate layer to represent the complexity and tough exterior side of Nikita. The soft chocolate mousse and the hibiscus biscuit together represent her inner beauty and exotic characteristics.”

To view the recipes, as well as creations inspired by “The Good Wife,” “The Vampire Diaries,” “Blue Bloods” and other series, visit cbswatchmagazine.com.

Maybe more local chefs will be similarly inspired to add a dash of “Five-0″ to their menus.
