Mayhap, with the proper light balance setting, there would have resulted a more aesthetic photo with the cold metallic hue and texture of the grating underlying the warm, fall color(s) and contrasting texture of the leaves. Monochrome has it's place and works beautifully in the hands of masters re: Adams, Weston, etc. Oh well, who's to say if we would ever have enjoyed pate feuilletée (sp?) (puff pastry) were it not for an apprentice's mistake? The balance of the leaves and pebble enhances the darkness of the black negative space, while the blue achieves an 'ancient' feel to it. I feel as if I am in a primitive space. Great accident.
