Have to vote on the VB mag poll by tomorrow. thinking the Huskers aren’t No. 2.
The second-ranked Nebraska volleyball team fought off four match points in the third set and led 11-7 in the fifth and final set only to see No. 13 Florida win eight of the final nine points and rally for a 25-22, 25-22, 29-31, 13-25, 15-12 victory in front of 5,978 fans in the final match of the Runza/AVCA Showcase Sunday at Qwest Center Omaha.
Ferrell 1 set, 1 RE no attempts.

Impressed that Iowa State came back after losing their all-conference player in the first match.

Blog back up, thanks for being patient: Hawaii 3, UCLA 0

Very weird not to see Banachowski across the way.
And the poor men’s volleyball team got kicked out of some empty seats.

Hawaii going with same lineup as last night. Hewitt, Danielson, Mafua, Maeda (DS), Satele, Hartong. Waber and Ka’aihue will be coming in later.

Thoughts on Night 2?

Hawaii had another Set 2 letdown but managed to pull it together when it counted. Danielson is pretty amazing, no? such a smart player. And agree that Ka’aihue had an ‘on’ night. Good to see the freshmen get out there. Repeating myself here but Hartong the best of the three attackers and Uiato is going to be a great one. It’s not the obvious situation back in the 90s when Ah Mow replaced Anderson because I do feel Mafua is a really good setter who doesn’t get the credit she deserves.
Think one of the posts that got lost in the outage was something Shoji told Scott Robb regarding Friday’s match. Shoji told Mafua to get the other attackers involved and not set Danielson as much. but down 2-1 the thinking had to change.
Everyone got in tonight except Cascioppo. doubt if we’ll see her tomorrow either, unless they’re blowing out the Bruins. Should be a good crowd.
