Hawaii had no problem in Set 1, 25-16. Had to rally behind freshmen seeing their first action .. Goodman and Uiato … 25-23. The Wahine trailed 12-6. Uiato served five straight as UH tied it at 12. K-State again took the lead at 16-13 and 18-14. Mafua back in has an ace and UH goes up 19-18. Some really good defense going on and Danielson has some serious hangtime on a pipe, dropping it into the backrow.
UH wins 25-20

Bruins won pretty easily 25-14. But San Diego didn’t look very good in Set 1 against Hawaii last night. We’ll how they come back in Set 2.
Toreros couldn’t put a ball down 5-4-27. UCLA with 16 digs, 6 by Gera.

Bruins win 25-19. closer than the score. think it was 19-17 USD hitting .067 for the match, bruins .288.

very surprised by the sweep. UCLA wins 25-21. Bruins had 3 swings at ending it, finally did.

Thanks for all the posts, shall we rehash tonight?

Really good win for Hawaii to be able to come back like they did. They looked strong at the end and agree with someone on another thread that Danielson was fired up. She was.
Hawaii finished with 21.5 blocks, Hewitt in on 16, setting a school record in rally scoring, and Satele on 12. Satele also had 14 kills. Danielson had 18, including the final one. Ka’aihue with 15 digs, Mafua 13. Hewitt with 8 kills and 2 aces, those two big in set 5. Perhaps he’ll let her serve more ofen.
Ka’aihue 2 aces as well.
Glad to see Shoji give Maeda a chance. thought she did really well. A very tough kid but you wouldn’t know it.
USD did a nice adjustment after Set 1. and their passing got better. people will ask why they kept running the middle. because that’s their strength. And Alex Griffiths got in a nice serving run.
they should have no trouble with K-State. UCLA will be very interesting.

Wahine win 25-14 and it feels like a WAC match. UH with 8 blocks, Hewitt in on 6, Satele 5. Wahine hitting .357. USD negatve129. Waber 4-0-6. not bad for freshman.
