48 Hours

By Dave Reardon

Greg McMackin told the team it’s time to move on from the San Jose State loss and look ahead. You’re allowed to wallow in a loss 48 hours, and then that’s it.

Saturday’s task is daunting, at Fresno State.

McMackin reiterated what Jason reported today, that Inoke Funaki remains the starting quarterback.

Three players will be doing punishment drills for personal fouls committed in Saturday’s game. McMackin is questioning several other calls, and plans to send them to the conference for review.

McMackin said WR Malcolm Lane (concussion), RB Kealoha Pilares (concussion) and CB Ryan Mouton (ribs) will be OK to play against FSU after suffering injuries against SJSU. DT Rocky Savaiigaea (triceps) is out and starting to look like a good candidate for a medical redshirt. LB Blaze Soares (calf, ankle) remains out.

If they are starting Inoke, I hope that this time the coaches will let him play the entire game and not pull him if he makes some mistakes.

Also, if they aren’t even sure if Grunke can be the backup for the Fresno game, was it really a good decision to put him in the San Jose game?
