For those of you coming to the match, the fire in the portables next to the arena is still happening. You’ll see the smoke from H-1. it’s affecting parking in the back next to the security gate but no where else.

they’ve been trying to put it out for about 8 hours. apparently the roof is about 3 feet thick after all the repairs. they’ve never taken the roof off over the years, just layered on another.

the building houses payroll, accounting and receiving for the entire UH system. sure hope they have a backup server otherwise it’s going to be a mess.

But perhaps this will get the move to make lower campus strictly the athletic complex, something that’s been in the worlds since Herman Frazier. There has been discussion about moving the non-athletic things to upper campus and using that space for the Letterwinners’ Club and a true sports hall of fame. we shall see.
