Alexander will start Saturday at QB, Thomas at FS

By Dave Reardon

Greg McMackin told Jason Kaneshiro today after practice that Greg Alexander will start at quarterback Saturday at Utah State. Inoke Funaki is expected to play in a platoon role. Also, Desmond Thomas will start at free safety, the coach said. Keith AhSoon will make the trip, and has taken plenty of reps at left guard. When he does so, Laupepa Letuli slides over to left tackle.

Dave this should make for another great weekend of Warrior Football! The thing I like about this scenario is that while Funaki has been doing pretty good and playing to his full potential, we’re just scratching the surface with GA. To me he has much more upside potential for us to experience. That along with improved “O” line play, skill players showing up like they did against Nevada, special teams playing special again and continued solid Defense makes for another W. Go warriors!
BTW heard Bob Hogue rag on the coaches this am. He needs to see the bigger picture and put everything in proper perspective regarding all that’s transpired since JJ bolted to SMU. I always liked Bob as a sports commentator but today he sounded more accountant/green eye shade and less Commissioner like:-(. Look at how Dallas, New England and Indy have struggled similarly with injuries at their QB position.

Da Rock is glad dat Inoke “Here, this one’s on me” Funaki’s turnover limit has been lowered from five turnovers to just one before da coaches decide to put somebody else in at QB.

Dat is very good news, too late for da San Jose and Boise games, but still good news.

    Rock on!

By the way, Da Rock could not help but notice dat Monteihl had zero tackles against Nevada, a primarily running team.

Dat is “zero” as in zilch, nada, nyet, nothing. Dat is embarrassing.

Maybe da coaches make a good move in da secondary by playing somebody else in his place. Maybe it’s Thomas who is replacing him. Da Rock hopes so.

Monteihl can always lead da Ha’a and TV interviews though. We need him for dat.

    Rock on!

Alexander deserves the start after the awesome finish against Nevada. I have to say I am impressed by the way the team is playing at this point, and I think we have a good shot to see a Hawaii Bowl invite.

Alexander played a good game. Inoke made important contributions as well. The problem lies in the long haired behemoths called the o-line. Especially the tackles. The long hair doesn’t work like it did for Samson, they no get mana. No rip on Bob Hogue, he is entitled to his opinion as you are. Jus chillax and enjoy the season.

Good for Alexander. Let’s just hope that when he makes a mistake that we don’t get on his case and call for his job, as has been the case this season. We need to start working toward some consistency. Mistakes will be made. That’s how you learn. But I do think that Alexander has the arm and the potential to make the run and shoot do what we have seen it do. . . eventually. Kevin hopes so (since we’re speaking in 3rd person – only kidding – no like make da rock mad).

I do think we will see a good offensive performance. By the way, is it just me or does Coach Mac love to name starting QB’s.

Your right, For Life…about opinions. Just that to me he it just seemed so odd??? He was Mr Sunshine to the max on the Bob and Russ Show. Anyways…Go Warriors!

Hogue was a USC cheerleader, so I ‘d respect his opinions on the Rainbow Dancers and cheer team, Wes.
