Blog going on Hiatus

October 17th, 2012

Sorry to have to do this but I am leaving for the mainland to handle some issues regarding my mom. I appreciate all the support you gave me during the summer. Some things have gotten better, some things have gotten worse.

If all goes well, blog will be back up on Oct. 25.

Someone asked about Croson. I believe her suspension is about up and she may be playing by Saturday, if not Thursday.

I think Hawaii should win both.

Thank you again for all your kind thoughts and prayers doing this tough time. Enjoy the matches. Aloha, Cindy

After watching last night match with UOP, one thing is becoming very apparent. Emily Hartong is like the Energizer Bunny, wind her up, and watch her go, and go, and go. She did not look tired at all, after the match. She looked the same as when she started the match. At times, last year, Danielson looked exhausted during a 5 set match, not Hartong. Which could bold well for the Wahine in a 5 set match. Having your Star Player, not appearing to wear down. Have any of you people noticed this about Hartong, too?

Yes, I agree with you, ddfan. Hartong was the freshest of them all after the game. That was a very good comeback win. I am hoping that Jane Croson will be on that next road trip to Long Beach. Go Bows!

I think that Goodman deserves to be included in the mix in terms of starting on the right side. I thought she played a great game yesterday!

She may be a favorite; she may have played well the last three sets against UOP, but she is not a starter on this year’s team.

This year’s team (more than ever–in some time) will live/die by their (in)consistent ball handling skills.

*Focus on the back row and maybe this team’s got a shot at the title.
