Bourbon Street report
By Dave Reardon
NEW ORLEANS >> Jamm Aquino, Gary Chun and I got back from a Bourbon Street foray about an hour ago. Richard Walker is still there; I think we might have a hard time getting him to come back to Hawaii with us.
There were plenty of UH folks there. Folks from the band, ticket office, equipment staff, etc. We saw a few Warrior players, who were just cruising around, checking out the sights … and here’s the good news: None of them were starters, and I noticed no underage drinking by any players. It’s still early in the week, but that’s a good sign. From what we could see, the Warriors are worthy of Coach Jones’ no-curfew call for the first couple of nights.

I know Gary Chun got down to Johnny White’s Pub & Grill. Did you get there to? Hope you guys can stop by the tailgate. It’s going to be a lot bigger than the one we did at La Tech earlier this year.

The tv news mentioned that Jacob Patek and Dan Kelly were still suffering from foot injuries. Will they be ready for the game?

Hi Dave,
Would you be able to tell us how parking will be like on New Year’s Eve in the French Quarter? What would you recommend folks from the Airport Hotels getting there?
Also, do you know how parking is like for the game at SuperDome? Are there enough parking or do we have to go really early like Aloha Stadium?
Last, what tailgate partys are there?
Thanks for your inputs!

There’s only 5,000 parking stalls for the 72,000 seat Superdome. I’ve been told that lots of people park their cars in the surrounding neighborhoods.
There’s a tailgate at Johnny White’s Pub & Grill on Bourbon St. about 20 minutes walking distance to the Superdome. More info on this link:
