Cal 139 11-6-36 3 aces, 1 SE, 20 digs, 3 blocks.

Kastl 4-0-9, Vorster 0-1-2, Croson 3-4-18, Hartong 3-0-8, Adolpho 3-0-8, Goodman 0-0-0.
Pretty much that’s what happened with Stanford last week. UH cut down its service errors and things turned around. think the concern should be the lack of setting Vorster. They flopped the lineup to stay away from Johnson.
key: UH 2 aces, 1 SE in Set 2, Cal 2 aces, 3 SEs.
UH hit 255 17-5-57. Cal 132 8-3-38

I know that this has already been brought up, but the officiating is awful, awful, awful…How does one get to officiate an NCAA match? Are there requirements?
you can call the HHSAA, or go to any high school match and ask. you first have to become a certified scorekeeper and then you might start as a linesman at intermediate.
smart play by Croson on the 2nd ball makes it 23-19. Don’t think it’s so much what UH will do as to what Cal will do, including going with another setter.
This is just one of those grind it out matches. UH 281 to Cals 205.
Kastl 6-2-16, Vorster 0-2-6, Croson 12-7-47, Uiato 3-0-5, Hartong 14-2-33, Adolpho 9-2-13, Goodman 0-0-1. 3 aces, 5 SEs, 47 digs, Longo 12, Hartong 12, Uiato 11. 8 blocks,
Cal has 5 blocks, 50 digs 14 by McKenneno, 6 aces, 9 SEs.
Call goes Hawaii’s way. Kastl stuffs Higgins. McKennon looked to have an up ball on the replay but linesman called it down. it’s 12-9. TO Cal. Lelepali on a 3-0 serving run.
Good, have time to watch, “Let’s Go Fishing.”
Wahine starters: Longo, Kastl, Vorster, Croson, Uiato, Hartong and Adolpho.
Kastl with an overpass gives hawaii the 1-0 lead. and Croson and Adolpho on the block makes it 2-0
Kastl is starting tonight!
Yes, i posted the Wahine starters above.
The Wahine need to bring their “A” Game, California looking real good.
Hawaii up 15-11 at the TTO
Kastl 3-0-7, Vorster 0-0-, Croson 1-1-9, Uiato 1-0-1, Hartong 2-0-5, Adolpho 2-0-2.
What a dig by Longo.
block by Vorster and Hartong make it 17-13 UH. TO Cal.
Is Jane ill?
why do you ask that?
Cal has closed to 17-16. They are no longer hitting .000. Kill by Kastl makes it 18-16.
nice back set by Longo to Croson. it’s 19-17.
hurting tried to get out of the way of a serve that was going out. hits her. Ace brings Cal to within 20-19. TO Wahine.
Jane does not look 100%.
don’t think she looks ill but she did miss practice this week.
kind of surprised Shoji hasn’t called a timeout. Cal on a 4-0 run. leading 22-20.
Hawaii closes to 23=22 on a Cal SE. Croson to serve. TO Golden Bears.
Double sub, Stauber and Goodman in.
Cindy, that last TO, Dave Shoji called it.
Adolpho on the step out. ties it at 20
you’re right. thought it was Cal.
Croson aced. probably should have let it go. Cal wins 25-23
UH 190 14-6-42, 1 ace, 3 SE, 18 digs, 4 blocks.
Cal 139 11-6-36 3 aces, 1 SE, 20 digs, 3 blocks.
Cal came on at the end with 5 kills and no errors. they had been 6-6-30 .
Kastl 4-0-9, Vorster 0-1-2, Croson 3-4-18, Hartong 3-0-8, Adolpho 3-0-8, Goodman 0-0-0.
Too many dumb errors, wahine please wake up and play your game.
Pretty much that’s what happened with Stanford last week. UH cut down its service errors and things turned around. think the concern should be the lack of setting Vorster. They flopped the lineup to stay away from Johnson.
Longo with another ace, Kill by Hartong. UH up 6-2. TO Cal.
another bad call. hit the Cal player and they called no touch.
Cindy, do you mean, switching Vorster and Adolpho?
yes, they flopped the middles.
Why is Mita not setting jade??> I dont get it.
Cal is pretty big up there. if you notice, Adollpho has be set mostly on the slides. Higgins is 6-2, Johnson 6-4, Brown 6-3.
These refs are a joke, get new ones please hawaii.
The Big West supervisor of officials is here. I’m sure it will go into his report.
I agree, they are getting close to Jim Leahey territory when it comes to eye sight.
Mita, a little off with her connections with the middles, right now.
Mita set the middles more!!
the block is huge in the middle the passing is not great. she isn’t going to the middle.
Cal’s front row is 6-5, 6-3, 6-2 at the moment.
Mis-hit by Cal, it’s 17-9. TO Golden Bears.
I think the passing has been good enough and Cal is not bigger than Stanford, Jade has got to be involved for UH to blow this open.
not going to argue. she isn’t setting the middle. her choice. we don’t know what she is seeing.
nice transition play. Cal not ready for Adolpho. Another missed call by the ref on what should have been a lift. 23-12.
Adolpho, yelled for that set.
She was open and the best option. Cal has made it 24-16. it was 24-13. couple of tough serves, 2 aces.
Adolpho puts down her sixth kill to end it. 25-16.
Adolpho, gets the last 3 points, for the Wahine.
Vorster, needs to get stronger, so she can power thru the block, like Adolpho can.
key: UH 2 aces, 1 SE in Set 2, Cal 2 aces, 3 SEs.
UH hit 255 17-5-57. Cal 132 8-3-38

I know that this has already been brought up, but the officiating is awful, awful, awful…How does one get to officiate an NCAA match? Are there requirements?
JMY u should become a ref, heck im thinking of becoming one, I think just about anyone could see better than these refs.
Yes, you have to be certified and there are levels. they’re always looking for more refs, so do volunteer.
Cindy, do you know who you see, or call, to become a referee?
you can call the HHSAA, or go to any high school match and ask. you first have to become a certified scorekeeper and then you might start as a linesman at intermediate.
I would like to see that Polynesian Lady be the Up Referee more. To me she does the Best Job at it.
Denice Hanson is good. she was up yesterday. Didn’t see her today.
Hartong with her 13th kill. makes it 15-13 UH. TTO.
SE by Hartong and she gets aces ties hat 15.
UH needs to serve tougher and this Cal team is toast if they wont be able to do the step out.
I don’t know. Hartong looking a little fatigued. unusual for her. she is taking a lot of swings.
Hartong into the net on the 3-meter attack. too bad since Longo set a great ball when sitting down a few plays earlier. Cal leads 17-16. TO UH.
Not only Hartong, but Jane, also.
Jade’s having a miserable match
Tip by Croson can’t be played. it’s 19-18. TO Cal.
double sub. Stauber in to serve for Maeda.
Nice connection with Stauber and Adolpho. Croson’s kill makes it 21-18. TO Cal.
Okay Jen what is Dave going to do now?
smart play by Croson on the 2nd ball makes it 23-19. Don’t think it’s so much what UH will do as to what Cal will do, including going with another setter.
Vorster in on the block. UH wins 25-20
Cindy
Is Mita’s mom here?
Don’t know if UIato’s mom is here. I know vorster’s is.
I think Uiato’s mom is here. OcSports keeps showing this one lady, that looks like Uiato, everytime Uiato is introduced.
Since I’m not watching TV, I don’t know.
Got to stop Johnson.
Johnson 9-3-23.
she’s still playing on a bad leg.
probably going to Hartong too much. she is blocked. it’s 6-2 Cal. TO UH.
tickets 7051, turnstile 5622. hard to believe that last number is true.
Kastl tries to go line but hits wide. it’s 12-5. almost like UH waiting for Cal to make a mistake. and they did. Net serve. it’s 12-6.
Call goes Hawaii’s way. Kastl stuffs Higgins. McKennon looked to have an up ball on the replay but linesman called it down. it’s 12-9. TO Cal. Lelepali on a 3-0 serving run.
Croson stuffed on the left. Cal up 16-11. TO UH.
Long in for Croson. Adolpho blocked. it’s 20-12. He might be resting Croson for Set 5.
Hawaii looks tired…Uiato not setting particularly well.
A little momentum. kill by Hartong, 2 blocks and it’s 20-15.
yes, looking tired. not sharp at all on Serve-Recieve. it’s 23-15.
Tuiniga is for Vorster.
and that was a case of Long no knowing where to be. Cal serving for the set at 24-16.
UH is just not getting cal out of system, serving way too easy and making too many mistakes.
Yep. Cal wins 25-17. we’ll see what happens in Set 5.
UH hit negative 029 in Set 4. 7-8-34. It was ugly. Cal 281. Cal with 11 blocks, 6 in Set 4. That partially due to predictable sets.
UH a little confused on the lineup. Adolpho and Vorster switched to start the set.
UH down 5-2. TO. Croson with another hitting error. not looking real good.
Higgins with another kill, think its her 9th. Cal up 8-4 at the switch.
Higgins with her 10th. it’s 10-4 Cal. TO UH.
