Congrats to Hartong, POW for fourth time this season

Hawaii outside hitter Emily Hartong has been named the Big West Conference Women’s Volleyball Player of the Week. It was the fourth weekly honor for Hartong which is the most of any Big West player.

The former AVCA National Player of the Week averaged 4.62 kills, 3.88 digs and 0.38 service aces as the Rainbow Wahine downed Pacific in five sets and swept UC Davis this past week. Hartong also hit .301 (37-12-83) in the two wins to help UH improve to 24-2 overall and remain unbeaten in conference play at 16-0.

Hartong collected 25 kills and 16 digs in the five-set triumph over the Tigers as the Rainbow Wahine rallied from a 2-1 deficit.  She swung at a .346 (25-7-52) clip and tallied three service aces to spearhead the win.

In the win over the Aggies, Hartong had 12 kills and 15 digs for her eighth double-double of the season as the Wahine completed an undefeated Big West road record.

Hartong leads   the Big West in kills (4.53 kpg) and points (5.19 ppg), while ranking sixth in both hitting percentage (.281) and service aces (0.28 sapg).
