Congrats to both and good luck in the finals.
Can’t remember if it’s the top 3 or 5 who go on to the Olympics.

    Believe it’s the top 3.

In order for the athletes to make it to Beijing, they have to place in the top 3 in their respective event and also make the “A” standard for the Olympics. If you are interested, the direct site to the Olympic qualifying standards are at:

Just for reference, in the women’s high jump, Amber or Adriane would have to clear 1.95 meters or about 6’4″. I’m rooting for them both to make some noise in the track world!!!

Thank you. For those of you who don’t know, Marshall is the track coach at Mililani where Adriane trained and coached the Trojan jumpers.

Just heard from Amber’s “mama.” Said she couldn’t fly back up to watch Friday’s finals but that Amber’s dad would be up there.
I didn’t catch it but she said she posted on Volleytalk about how nice Destinee (Hooker, volleyball player from Texas) is to Amber. According to her mom, “Amber is really anxious to get back to volleyball. Actually it’s all she was talking about. She was talking quite a bit more about the Penn State match than the High Jump finals. She really, really wants the team to win that one.”
