Big question mark as to how they will perform next week. Not going to far if they play like they are tonight. Was hoping that maybe Hagin get to start tonight.
Odd way to lose it. Looked like Fullerton hit long, which would have given Hawaii set point. Linesman calls a touch. makes it 24-23 Fullerton. Hartong hits long. Fullerton wins 25-23
no, just not not playing well. and could have won that if the call had gone the other way.
Vorster 2-1-6, Croson 1-2-7, Hartong 6-2-15, Adolpho 1-1-5, Manu-Olevao 0-0-2.
UH hit 108.
UH with 14 digs, CSUF with 20.
both with 2 blocks.
wow, it is ugly out there. Wahine showed energy in set 1 but can not put a lot of balls down as Fullerton dig a lot of the balls. They are also serving tough and wahine not passing well at ll.
big win for ASU over UW. doesn’t help ASU get into the NCAA touranemtn but it could affect UW’s seed.
But Shoji and I had this discussion. the last RPI was supposedly Monday’s. which makes no sense IMHO because there were plenty of matches this week.
to me, it just means the committee is really lazy. and won’t work on Sunday morning.
not impressed with Olevao at all, put Goodman back. At least she can block, and hits at such an akward way that the opponents dont usually know what just happen and turns it to a kill.
Cindy, did you notice during lsu/ark match on espnu, they interviewed selection committee chair, she doesn’t mention coaches poll as selection criteria
UH still needs to run the middle
Vorster 3-2-8, Crson 6-2-17, Hartong 12-3-25, Adolpho 2-1-6, Olevao 0-0-5.
for CSUF Neto 11-7-34, Bron 7-2-12. not much else.
UH 8-3 in blocks. CSUF 30-29 digs
UH 4-1 in aces.
If you missed that interview on Net Live with Paul Wenthold the creator of Pablo you missed some really interesting stuff about the selection committee. Apparently they changed something in the wording of how they will seed teams that indicated that they will use more than the RPI but they didn’t say what it would be.
Did miss it. supposedly they are taking both the poll and Pablo into account. and the coaches have been told that. but I don’t think they’ll be interviewing Mick Haley Sunday. Still love his “Occupy NCAA” last year.
that upper ref need to chill, maybe bad night last night? i have a feeling he’s using the buddy system getting out of the SSC tonight making a lot of people upset. Yellow card really?
lol. on the other hand, a lot of bullet shots from hartong!
and a lot of power hits from croson, but the back-row for fullerton able to handle her.
dang, fullerton girls know how to hit a fast ball.
There is a review process. but you have to remember that UH is one of the few teams that has a real tape of a match.
that can be reviewed. Uh up 23-17. TO Titans.
but there are not always tapes available that show the officiating like UH’s TV matches. most available tapes are from the back line cameras and that doesn’t show everything. No audio on some.
i think alaina bergsma will take it. top 5 in kills and shes high in hitting i think(.350+)
Traditionally though, it would go to a senior with good stats that is also part of a team that makes it to final four right?
There were some non-seniors to earn the award: Foluke Arkinradewo, Christina Houghtelling, Tee williams, Misty May, Logan Tom. only ones that come to my head.
Does how far you make it into the NCAA tournament affect what team you’re eligible to make for all-america?
Example, Tennessee’s Kelsey Robinson had a lot of kills and digs and had an adequate hitting %, but only made 2nd team all-america after bbeing eliminated in the 2nd round. she had better stats than some people in the 1st team.
Also a libero broke a dig record i think and only earned 3rd team or 2nd(idk)
you’re right, Teee Williams won it as a sophomore in 97. co-POY in 89 as a senior.
as for All-Americans. no it doesn’t matter how far you go.
iThe process … all-conference leads to all-region which leads to all-american. all-confernce first teamers and FOY advance for consideration for all region. which s why Shoji was upset when Croson didn’t share in FOY for the WAC. meant she had no chance to advance for honors.
With a better RS attacker, which will come in the form of Taylor next year, Hartong should see less double blocks, and we all know what she can do with only a single blocker. This should cause her hitting percentage to go up. Not only that, but next year will be her 2nd year at LS. Also, a plus will be a stronger Vorster in the Middle.
My point was, with a better RS attacker, and Vorster being more dominate in the Middle, Hartong will see less double blockers. Causing Hartong’s hitting percentage to go up. Hartong is very deadly against a single, or split block.
Can you stop with this nonsense? You don’t know how Taylor will fare in the college game. She could end up redshirting, could be in the mix right away, or could be a total dud. Not happy with Goodman or Olevao? Well, too bad, they’re all you’ve got. Also, weren’t you one of those insisting Olevao play RS? What happened? Not satisfied with her performance?
Happy Thanksgiving everyone.Hope you and your family’s have a great day. Sorry the mainland girls can’t be at home with their family’s, but hope you all find a way to enjoy your day.
Starting for Hawaii Longo, Vorster, Croson, Hartong, Maeda, Uiato, Adolpho. Not sure who RS will be.
Olevao is in but in this alignment that means she’s left and Hartong is right.
UH up 6-3
Adopho stuffed on the stepout. Titans on a 4-0 run, take a 12-11 lead.
Hartong with a bullet UH up 15-13 at the tho.
Vorster 2-1-3, Croson 0-1-3, Hartong 4-0-9, Adolpho 1-1-3, Manu-Olevao 0-0-1
STauber in to set. UH trails 20-19. TO Titans. Croson not looking real sharp and no real middle attack.
Hawaii has not improved , in fact they have gotten worse as the season has gone along.
Another kill by Neto (7) makes it 22-20. TO Wahine. Neto has 7 of the team’s 15 kills.
Fullerton misses the serve. it’s 22-21. TO Titans.
Big question mark as to how they will perform next week. Not going to far if they play like they are tonight. Was hoping that maybe Hagin get to start tonight.
Adolpho had a really good practice yesterday so that’s why she got the start over Hagins.
Odd way to lose it. Looked like Fullerton hit long, which would have given Hawaii set point. Linesman calls a touch. makes it 24-23 Fullerton. Hartong hits long. Fullerton wins 25-23
OVERRATED !
no, just not not playing well. and could have won that if the call had gone the other way.
Vorster 2-1-6, Croson 1-2-7, Hartong 6-2-15, Adolpho 1-1-5, Manu-Olevao 0-0-2.
UH hit 108.
UH with 14 digs, CSUF with 20.
both with 2 blocks.
Well it looks like Adolpho did not bring that practice time to the match.
wow, it is ugly out there. Wahine showed energy in set 1 but can not put a lot of balls down as Fullerton dig a lot of the balls. They are also serving tough and wahine not passing well at ll.
That line call was the 3rd bad call by this R1…send him back…
another slow start, please no more sloppiness.
Wow Croson really has BAD passing technique !!! Kinda lost hope with this team. They have been lucky to only have 2 loses.
Sorry but I’m not seeing a lot of success in the NCAA Tournament unless they get really lucky.
UH plays down to its compeition or up, I wouldn’t be surprised if they end up making the elite 8 but Croson has got to shape up.
UH up 5-0, including an ace by Uiato. TO Fullerton.
LOL guess they heard me.
If you notice, Washington (22-5) is losing at home to Arizona State (18-13). 2-1
im hoping the sun devils do get the upset, huskies are soooooo overrated
big win for ASU over UW. doesn’t help ASU get into the NCAA touranemtn but it could affect UW’s seed.

Looks like the Wahine, FINALLY WOKE UP!!!!
or they got a better matchup. and they are getting a better read on Neto.
Croson stuffs Neto it’s 7-1
UH up 10-2. TO Fullerton.
Cindy, did you notice during lsu/ark match on espnu, they interviewed selection committee chair, she doesn’t mention coaches poll as selection criteria
No, didn’t hear that. Don’t know what to tell you. We’ve been told they’re taking the poll into account.
Ace by Longo and a lift on CSUF makes it 20-9
Hartong with the kill ends it 25-14
UH still needs to run the middle
Vorster 3-2-8, Crson 6-2-17, Hartong 12-3-25, Adolpho 2-1-6, Olevao 0-0-5.
for CSUF Neto 11-7-34, Bron 7-2-12. not much else.
UH 8-3 in blocks. CSUF 30-29 digs
UH 4-1 in aces.
Jane finally in positive hitting territory.
This match must be boring, all people are talking about on VTalk is food, mainly spam musubi and korean food. LOL
ASU upset the hUSKIES BOOOYAAA! 3-1
#5 Washington LOSES to Arizona St. in 4 sets.
my bad. misread the score
Goodman in for Olevao. it’s 6-6.
good shot by Goodman
Connection with Vorster MUCH better.
Vorster is playing better and seems to be more ready for the sets.
If you missed that interview on Net Live with Paul Wenthold the creator of Pablo you missed some really interesting stuff about the selection committee. Apparently they changed something in the wording of how they will seed teams that indicated that they will use more than the RPI but they didn’t say what it would be.

This ref sucks.
but consistent.
UH up 15-9 at the TTO.
Now that was a bad call. definitely a touch on Vorster’s stepout. and Shoji gets a yellow. can’t remember the last time that happened.
yeah i forgot to add in the consistent part. bad calls against hawaii though. i think like 5.
UH up 17-11 despite the poor officiating. not all the up ref’s fault on that last one. that was the linesman.
GREAT save by Croson. UH up 18-11.
Hartong with 19 kills. Neto has only 4 since Set 3
Not only was there a touch but the ball was IN. These refs need to go back to training. They SUCK!
that upper ref need to chill, maybe bad night last night? i have a feeling he’s using the buddy system getting out of the SSC tonight making a lot of people upset. Yellow card really?
lol. on the other hand, a lot of bullet shots from hartong!
and a lot of power hits from croson, but the back-row for fullerton able to handle her.
dang, fullerton girls know how to hit a fast ball.
Fullerton has closed to 19-15. TO UH
their defense is impressive, poor setting but for some reason they get away with kills
Cindy, do refs ever review match film, to see where they went wrong, or do they just believe they are never wrong?
There is a review process. but you have to remember that UH is one of the few teams that has a real tape of a match.
that can be reviewed. Uh up 23-17. TO Titans.
Who is the blonde kid on our bench at every match with the computer ? He looks familiar.
he’s a grad assistant. Antone. international student. does the computer stats, probabilities.
This tape should be sent to head of Big West officiating for sure…
he’s had a bad night, the mustache not jiving well with Hawaii weather.
impressed with Goodman
officials are evaluated and graded by the head official using game tapes but I’m not sure how often.
but there are not always tapes available that show the officiating like UH’s TV matches. most available tapes are from the back line cameras and that doesn’t show everything. No audio on some.
He looks like that comedian drunk Forster Brooks
UH wins 25-20 Set 3
Maeda with an ace, UH’s 10th. makes it 5-3
Hagins in. Hartong with kill No. 20. it’s 6-5
Uiato with UH’s 11th ace. TO Titans. it’s 11-7
Any info on where TK is tonight?
heard she’s out sick?
TK is ill and not in the arena
UH with 12 aces, third by Croson. it’s 16-9. TO Titans.
They mentioned that she is sick.
am i the only one who really wants emily hartong to earn national player of the year? either this year or next.
You’re not the only one but don’t think it will happen this year.
UH wins 25-19
i think alaina bergsma will take it. top 5 in kills and shes high in hitting i think(.350+)
Traditionally though, it would go to a senior with good stats that is also part of a team that makes it to final four right?
usually a senior whose team makes the final four, yes. the voting is done after the regionals so coaches do know who advances.
There were some non-seniors to earn the award: Foluke Arkinradewo, Christina Houghtelling, Tee williams, Misty May, Logan Tom. only ones that come to my head.
Does how far you make it into the NCAA tournament affect what team you’re eligible to make for all-america?

Also a libero broke a dig record i think and only earned 3rd team or 2nd(idk)
If her hitting percentage was close to .320 she would be in the hunt. Hope she improves on that next season and she will be one of the favorites.
Hartong takes a lot of trouble sets so her percentage is not that high. not really her fault on those.
you’re right, Teee Williams won it as a sophomore in 97. co-POY in 89 as a senior.
as for All-Americans. no it doesn’t matter how far you go.
iThe process … all-conference leads to all-region which leads to all-american. all-confernce first teamers and FOY advance for consideration for all region. which s why Shoji was upset when Croson didn’t share in FOY for the WAC. meant she had no chance to advance for honors.

This should cause her hitting percentage to go up. Not only that, but next year will be her 2nd year at LS. Also, a plus will be a stronger Vorster in the Middle.
No slight on Taylor but we’ll see if she earns a starting spot. she gives another good option for Shoji.
My point was, with a better RS attacker, and Vorster being more dominate in the Middle, Hartong will see less double blockers. Causing Hartong’s hitting percentage to go up. Hartong is very deadly against a single, or split block.
