Hoping TV is showing this. Great to have the whole team doing this dance. Started out with Maeda in the middle of the circle. They have some moves!

Volleyshots

That was really sweet. Quite the routine.
I love that the whole team was involved, hope it’s always like that from now on.
I guess they figured since its only 1 senior that they support her and dance with her instead. It will be pretty akward if Maeda dance that number by herself. lol. What a great senior night for her.
One of the best senior nights!
Did they actually have volleyball practice this week. That damce routine was terrific, really insinct.
They had practice Tuesday. they had plenty of time to get that routine down. nice tribute for her
the girls can dance thats for sure
Agree. That was great.Got that on tape.
OMG! How can anyone top this senior night?!? Never saw the proposal coming!!!!
I had a feeling that it was coming when Kam said she had a surprise. Chad was no where to be seen so …
Aww congrats to Emily Maeda and her fiance.
Cindy, now Ann or you, have something to really write about. Congrats, Emily, on Senior Night, and your Marriage Proposal!!!!
Very cool about the marriage proposal. that was so sweet. Sadly the story i wrote for the first edition didn’t have the proposal in it. Ann’s will.
Cindy did the UCR team able to watch the senior night?
UCR may have watched from the tunnel. they didn’t stick around on the court after their seniors were acknowledged.
They saw the proposal. A few were on tv wiping tears.
I kinda wish Brit was in the stands to get recognized as well…..
Epic Senior nIGHT!
someone from NCAA web writers has got to write an article about tonight. I mean how many senior nights out there happens like this from a team who just went undefeated and the lone senior getting a proposal all in one night.
Were there three potential recruits visiting tonight? Who were those three girls sitting on the bench during Senior celebration?
Thought one of them looked like Taylor Agost.
Cindy did say, she was here with her mom, this week, took in practice.
One of them was Agost. didn’t catch who the others were. Agost was at practice with her mom Tuesday. Mentioned that earlier.
Hope this Senior Night convince her to become a Wahine. She will not see a Senior Night like that anywhere else.
Having the team spend 4 hours, to learn the dance routine, then another 15 hours to practice the routine, all on their own time, just tells you how tight this team really is. This team tightness will go a long way, in carrying this team thru the NCAA Tournament.
That’s a bummer… People missed out then on that awesome routine!
OC didnt even show the senior night video which sucks. Pressure is on next year’s senior class to try and top this now lol.
They didn’t show Emily’s video on tv broadcast? wow that sucks.
NOPE
their dance routine was very symbolic – the wahines and maeda are not finished, they will be going dancing in the ncaa tournament and hope they continue to dance all the way to the final four.
Thought it was cool to honor the Riverside seniors. One year the WAC team playing UH that night was invited to sit with the Wahine. can’t remember who the gracious wahine was who went over to invite the team.
I, too, wish we could’ve thanked Brittany for her contributions to Wahine VB, UH, and Hawaii. Where is she and what is she doing? Does anyone know? She was one of my favorites.
I know they should have invited Brit, oh well. Always will be one of my faves. Would have been great to see her again.
That was 2010 Idaho, Dani & Liz, Henry Kapono Liz’s uncle singing.
I think Britt’s in Texas with her sis.
they also invited cal poly a couple years before. on that night they even showed the cal poly seniors being honored on tv. last night was one of the best ever.
I love that Hawaii is a volleyball following that acknowledges all the seniors on the last night/game. I’ve always told my family “No respect for your opponent will earn you no respect while showing your respect earns you some in return”. I’m just so glad that here it is an institutional consideration, too. ‘Cause we love and appreciate everyone’s effort and Riverside will be back with a new knowledge of Aloha they found here. Go Wahine! Blessings for all and hoping for the best from the committee.
Concur with many of the comments. Once again, Hawaii shows other universities how we honor our seniors with class, and the seniors of the visiting team as well!
God Speed to Emily Maeda. Your hard work and dedication with the Wahines has been an inspiration and touched many of our hearts. Your humble demeanor is a model all athletes should emulate. We will miss you on the courts. Congratulations to you and Chad!
