Grass tourney during Dragon Boat Festival

The Hawaii Dragon Boat Festival is holding two great events that will get your heart pumping on Saturday and Sunday, July 28 and 29. The Hawaii Dragon Boat Festival Grass Volleyball Tournament and High Performance Training for Injury Prevention will take place at Ala Moana Beach Park.

Grass Volleyball Tournament

Gather a team and register to serve, set and spike at Ala Moana Beach Park. Teams of up to six players can enter according to age division and level of play. A cash prize of $100 will be awarded to the winning adult team.

Saturday, July 28

Registration starts 30 minutes before each event

·         12 and Under: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

·         14 and Under: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

·         16 and Under: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

·         18 and Under: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

Sunday, July 29

Registration starts 30 minutes before each event

·         Junior Boys, Adult Men and Women: 9 a.m. to 1 p.m.

·         Adult Co-Ed (at least 2 women on the court): 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

·         Open Division & B Division: 2 p.m. to 6 p.m.

    Also, do you know where at Ala Moana Beach Park, it will be held at? The only volleyball courts I know of are on the ewa side, on the sand.

    no idea. i think they set up courts in the park somewhere.

    It’s a grass volleyball tournament, not a beach tourney. Last year had six courts that were set up in the park. The location (last year and should be there again) is in the middle of the park, at the intersection of Ala Moana Blvd. and Piikoi
