Kealoha Pilares scored on runs of 34 and 1 yards and Dan Kelly kicked a 37-yard field goal to give Hawaii a 17-7 lead against San Jose State at halftime. … Receiver Malcolm Lane did not play most of the first half after starting, and it was announced that his return in the second half would be doubtful. Royce Pollard replaced him. … Daniel Libre replaced Pilares late in the first half, and Pilares’ return was announced as questionable. … Inoke Funaki completed 14 of 20 passes for 158 yards and was intercepted once in the first half. … Aaron Bain has 4 catches for 67 yards.

Hi Dave, pretty good turnout tonight…better special teams play, D showed up, running game decent until Palares’ concussion..but just too many penalties and turnovers!!! Definitely a game we could and should have won.
