Volleyshots

Sounds like all the drunk Nevada fans staggered over from Mackey to watch the volleyball match.
They were expecting a large crowd, helped by the crowd coming down from football.
Cindy…what are the possibilities of post WAC season play in Hawaii and will season ticket holders get a chance to get their regular seats? I love mine this year…can I keep them for next year?
Shar, have no idea if the NCAA committee will give UH a sub-regional. It would be a nice way to reward Shoji and the Hawaii fans by letting them stay home for a sub-regional for the first time since 03. The regional sites are predetermined (Omaha, Stanford, Minnesota, Florida).
I would think if they host a sub-regional, season ticket holders get the first crack at seats. I don’t know for sure but why would they move you? and I would assume that if you renew your tickets for next season you get to keep your same seats. I’ll check next week with the ticket office for you.
Thanks, Cindy!!!!!
Did you happen to catch the D1 state championships? Awesome match between Kamehameha and Punahou. Manu-Olevao is going to be something, just a sophomore. Misty Ma’a as well. Would be great if Dave can get them both to UH.
And very impressed with Taylor Akana. Probably too small to hit in D1, but she would make a terrific DS or libero. Very smart. Lots of court savvy.
If Hawaii gets who they’re going after for 2011 they’re going to be loaded. It would be nice if Ma’a ended up at UH. Manu-Olevao played very well too. Caught the last part of Set 4 and then Set 5.
I know Allen Allen is in town, he’s an assistant at Gonzaga and is scouting. no surprise if some of the state tourney players end up there.
I agree with surfer200, the match was played at a very high level. No wonder so many kids from Hawaii get recruited by mainland schools. Skilled athletes , good coaching and high volleyball I.Q.s. Fun to watch.
Thought the rallies were very impressive. Kamehameha had a number of talented sophomores in the lineup. they’re going to be very good for the next two years, although they’ll miss akana.
“Where have you gone Chris McLachlin”?
Cindy:
Is Chris a casualty of the recent 3 TV Channel merger?
No one knows the game of volleyball like Chris. Highly espected, & a favorite among coaches, players & fans.
What’s the story?
Cindy:
What happened to Chris McLachlin?
Bobo, have answered that several times but i’ll do a new post
Cindy:
Do you know what happened to Careena Onosai? Last heard she was going to UCLA on a track scholarship, then left for some reason. Would love to see her play here at Manoa.
chris is helping the mens stanford volleyball team.
i believe it’s only temporary. lisa strand ma’a has done an amazing job filling in for him.
Careena’s been on the UH track team the past two years. Here’s the link to see how well she’s done that past two seasons

read the next post. I don’t believe the merger affects Chris. he’s supposed to come back for the men’s season
