    • Cindy Luis October 27, 2012 at 5:14 pm

thought UH adjusted to the tips better but still a problem.

      • Cindy Luis October 27, 2012 at 5:17 pm

Sorry to have to do this but … have to go out for a bit. Made this commitment a while back.

Hawaii loses set 3, 19-25. Its conference winning streak may come to an end today.

    • Manu October 27, 2012 at 5:47 pm

Most of the games have been close since Crosen left. Are the Wahines missing her that badly? I know Shoji had to work on a new line-up, but the bench played much better when Crosen was in. The past 4 matches looked like the Wahines were working too hard. C’mon Wahines! We’re behind you!

    • volleyball fan October 27, 2012 at 8:31 pm

I totally agree and hope NCAA does Emily Hartong justice and awards her national player of the week. She saved Hawaii both days from sure losses. She definitely deserves it.

  • Manu October 27, 2012 at 6:32 pm

    alright Wahine!

  • badballly October 27, 2012 at 6:33 pm

Bigwesttv.com sucks…can’t get streaming in game 5 to work.

    • menehune October 28, 2012 at 4:46 am

Yes, I would gladly play for the matches rather than sit and look at a screen and watch zombies on the court.

  • Jon October 27, 2012 at 6:34 pm

Don’t know how many more matches Hartong will be able to go if she’s taking 80 swings each time out… Also – wondering if there’s a record for most matches to 5 sets by a UH team in a season…. this season has had quite a few…

    • jmy October 27, 2012 at 6:35 pm

Don’t think it’ll happen much after Croson returns…

  • Akamai October 27, 2012 at 6:35 pm

    who won?

    • badballly October 27, 2012 at 6:38 pm

      UH in 5 sets 15 – 10

  • uhfan October 27, 2012 at 6:35 pm

I hope Hartong gets a much needed rest this week as she got another 79 sets tonight

    • badballly October 27, 2012 at 6:40 pm

She put on an awesome display the last 2 days for her homies is Los Al. Too bad Croson wasn’t there to do the same. Hopefully she’s a

    • Manu October 27, 2012 at 6:41 pm

Yup. She’s taking the motherload. Gotta work the other outside hitters and middles more. Need to save her for the really tougher games

    • badballly October 27, 2012 at 6:43 pm

Shoji did a good job of switching it up after they lost the 3rd set.

  • Akamai October 27, 2012 at 6:39 pm

    thanks bad

  • Robin October 27, 2012 at 6:40 pm

According to the bigwesttv stats…2 nights in a row of 79 attempts for Hartong (29 kills tonight, 33 last night).

    Jane better play this Thursday…

    • uhfan October 27, 2012 at 6:41 pm

I hope so too. For the sake of Hartong’s arm

    • rnr October 27, 2012 at 7:15 pm

u know Hartong is going to be icing the shoulder!!!! good to see Kaela playing good!

lets go BOWS and hope 2 c jane as well!!

  • uhfan October 27, 2012 at 6:40 pm

Vorster had another great match and Goodman stepped up! Hartong is a beast, that’s you can say. Im glad she’s only a junior.

  • Robin October 27, 2012 at 6:47 pm

    Goodman 9 kills, 1 error in 12 attempts = 0.667
    Kastl 9 kills, 8 errors in 30 attempts = 0.033
    Manu-Olevau 8 kills, 4 errors in 26 attempts = 0.154

  • kaleiboy October 27, 2012 at 8:48 pm

TSUNAMI WARNING EVERYONE….HEAD TO HIGHER GROUND….TURN ON TV AND RADIO

  • jmy October 27, 2012 at 8:49 pm

Much credit to the Wahine & coaching staff to remain undefeated w/o Croson…She was UH’s #2 kill leader. That would be a big blow to any team…

  • Grammy October 28, 2012 at 1:39 am

Everyone held up their end with some hitches, but enough to win. Uneven play and some unforced errors come from ‘fatigue’ or lack of focus which I think can be caused by ‘road weariness’ even in young people. I for one can appreciate that the Wahine did a great job to fight off another opponent which was ‘licking their chops to take down Number One’ again as always for UH Wahine. At least this conference offers ‘real competition’ and more talented individuals and teams than WAC. For now Coach Dave has had enough ‘smarts’ and moves to win but ‘one of these days’ one of these teams or one of these coaches…..

Go Wahine! You make us PROUD to cheer for a real Winner! And note to Jane, I know you’re dying to help Ems and team and let me tell you girl, I’m dying to see you in there, too.

    • menehune October 28, 2012 at 3:37 am

Grammy, I really enjoy reading your comments/analysis of the Wahine. You may not always be right, but your insight of the games and players offer positive thinking. When all is said and done, I believe Emily Hartong will be remembered in the same breath as the great ones of the past;; Kanani, Kim, Tee, Lily, et all. LET’S GO ‘BOWS.
