Hawaii up 15-13 at the technical timeout. Houston struggling again (1-2-5) but Ohio has committed on her every time out.
Herring has taken over the last three plays. kill knocks over a Ohio back-court player, teamed with Kaufman on a block, then smart shot to open back corner. UH up 20-16. Timeout Ohio
Hawaii wins Set 1 25-19. Houston puts down her second kill to end it.
And a standing ovation for Robyn Ah Mow-Santos watching the match tonight.
Wahine seemed to have found a rhythm. Kaufman playing very well (4-1-6). Hawaii has six blocks, leading 9-5. Timeout Ohio.
Hawaii up 15-8, timeout Ohio. Kaufman and Houston both with five kills.
um…thomas is amazing.
yes, glad to see her out on the court again.
Nickie Thomas playing very well. had three kills and a solo block in the closing moments. Hawaii wins 25-12.
Ferrell in for Houston, Fowler in for Thomas in Set 3. Hawaii up 12-7. Timeout Ohio.
Hawaii up 20-9. Fowler in on the last two blocks. Wahine have 11.
it’s 21-9, Brandt in to set. Keefe in as well.
Wahine win Set 3 25-12. Under 90 minutes.
I do believe Amber has wings. I like the way Dave used Nickie. The middles showed up tonight.
Defense is back. Herring passes a nice ball.
Did you see the play where Amber fakes the slide and Aneli hits from the right side? I don’t remember seeing that one before. I thought they were going to run into each other.
Everyone looked good tonight.
They did. But it was against Ohio, which I think will be a good team. We’ll see what happens today with UCLA. Again, I don’t think Hawaii played that poorly against Penn State. But PSU is at another level. They won the national championship for a reason. They have all seven starters back who are a year better. Sad when some of the fans don’t give credit to the other team for being good, would rather criticize how poorly UH played. PSU made UCLA look silly in Set 3. Banachowski, when asked what happened, said his team forgot to come out of the lockerroom after the break.
