Closer than it needed to be but a good win for UH, especially for a young team to be down 0-2 on the road.

Agree, UOP’s live stats are really cool, a lot of info. i never got video running. Thanks to all for some of the comments off the feed.

Biscaro 2-1-7, in on 9 blocks

Hunt 25-8-57, 3 aces, 2 blocks

west 12-3-17, 2 aces, 8 blocks

Averill 11-3-22, 1 aces

Lofy 3-0-5, 6 blocks

Marks 10-86-23, Castello 7 dogs

Sedore 5-3-11.

We’ll see what happens tomorrow.

Hawaii now 38-1 vs. UOP, have won last 30.

The video was a little small but was good, commentator not that annoying and no annoying fan like at pepperdine. Hope all the mpsf schools are giving out free video since we don’t get radio.

Year, 1420-AM tried to work out a deal to carry UOP’s feed but couldn’t get it done.

One good reason for the end line camera angle: you can see just how many backsets Sam doesn’t execute. When he does, its pretty much money. No opponent expects San to back set, so there’s almost always no blocker. Averill got many of his kills on backsets, I’m surprised Sam doesn’t do it more.

Maybe his pre-season injury prevented him from getting reps with Taylor and Johann using the backset.

  • uh..

stop watching after set 2, came back and they won. lol.

spoke to brittany hewitt she said she wont be back next year fall. maybe time to move on wahine will be fine

    • warriorfan

Well that sucks. But I hope that means UH is getting Chloe Mann. Wishful thinking on my part because Brit will be a huge loss.

I do have faith in Kalei though, but I wanted Emily to move to the outside…..

      • Hot

Would’ve been great with Hewitt, but they’ll be fine. Hartong needs to stay in the middle. All that time Adolpho spent as a starter can now be of actual use. Plus, there’s Vorster and Tuaniga in the picture. They might need Long to play a bigger part if FF doesn’t play indoor.

  • Steve

Well with Brit not coming back, there goes the depth, and experience, in the middle. I hope Shoji is praying that FF gets her grades in order, by the end of summer session. Otherwise, Croson may be the tallest OH they have, if Shoji decides to keep Hartong in the middle. This does not bold well for the Wahine. Going to a tougher conference, it would not surprise me if Shoji calls it quits, and retires. Hope not, but next season will be a big headache for him. Whereas, all the top teams are getting bigger, the Wahine are going in the opposite direction, they are getting smaller.

As for the match, they really need to send more sets Lofy’s way. 5 attempts in an entire match. He had more blocks than kill attempts.

Spoke to Brittany and she told me she IS retuning in fall and she wishes people would stop spreading false rumors on message boards.

    • FAN

Hewitt told me she is NOT returning.

      • LC

This returning / not returning stuff gets old almost to the point where it becomes who cares.

Hewitt fulfilled her obligations so she’s free to go or stay.Next time when you start suggesting that someone should redshirt keep in mind that it possibly means you will only see them play 3 years.

      • Everyone needs to calm down

Barack Obama told me, his wife’s brother’s daughter’s son’s cousin’s step brother’s uncle said he talked to BH and She will pursue her love of tap dancing.

  • Queen Zelda of Wahiawa

If the folks in the program would just update the roster and remove from the roster those who won’t be returning like other programs do then you would have your answer about Ms.Hewitt.As long as she remains on the rooster one can only assume that she is returning unless something else from a credible source emerges.

There is no proof that any MB is leaving Florida let alone coming to Hawai`i.The VT rumor has gotten so out of hand the new story is it might be Florida State not Florida.

  • Wawa

Haha, there are “dogs” and a “rooster” within this blog.

If BH does return (which she IS according to Cindy), I hope its for the right reasons. There was a comment a while back about her possibly being that “mother hen” role next year as a 5th year player, from what i gathered, her personality would not fit the bill.

  • vballfreak808

It will be good to have Hewitt back because she will help face the 2 tall players at Long Beach State (Haleigh Hampton 6′6, Alma Serna 6′4).

But having her as a senior will help us and have Hartong moving positions as an option. I would have Hartong at right because of her height and I see her playing better than Goodman. But anyone can improve so we will see in the fall.

  • LC

With two Maui County girls on the roster and Goodman who has family upcountry in Makawao not a bad idea but I do prefer the Lahaina Civic Center over War Memorial.
