Hawaii-Pepp 2nd night rewind
By Cindy Luis
sorry, just got back from basketball after writing Wahine story.
Warriors lose 25-20, 25-21, 22-25, 25-23
much like UCLA, Warriors had the lead late in Set 4. 21-20. was tied at 23. Pepperdine finishes it out.
Hunt 15-8-36, Sedore 1-1-2, West 7-2-11, Lofy 2-0-7, Marks 15-5-29, Averill 10-3-21. 1 aces, 15 SEs. 12 blocks.
you knew Torres would come back after his awful night Friday. 21-8-35. Ross 11-3-22, Taylor 14-9-34, Pollock 9-0-11. 2 aces, 13 SEs, 10 blocks
Think Averill should start at Opp.
someone said growing pains. totally agree. young team, first road trip. some of the california kids probably had family and friends there. And Firestone a tough place to play.
Grand Canyon this coming week. should be a chance to get more playing experience in a game situation.
have a good night.

Volleyshots

I don’t think this team is that young, Pepperdine is much younger. UH just lacks talent
Disagree. the only returning starters are Hunt and Castello. Lofy’s been in and out of the lineup.
Averill is showing he can start so I hope he does. But Hawaii’s block was better tonight. Hawaii ended a great rally at the end of set 3 because Pepperdine kept hitting into the block 4 times.
In the same topic of Pepperdine, Its official, Ross trasnferred to Pepperdine to be able to play sand. Did not realized how loaded their coaching team is in regards to the beach experience.
So we know Ross is out of speculated UH transfer, who else is there?
