Just talked to Keao Monteilh. He said his visit to Queen’s today to check out his shoulder was rescheduled for tomorrow. He said his shoulder is very painful, and he was told there may be a fracture to the socket.
He agreed it’s a good thing the Warriors have a bye this week.
“A lot of people are dinged up,” said Monteilh, who got his second interception of the season last night.

Colt Brennan is among four nominees for the AT&T All-America Player of the Week award. Brennan joins NC State wide receiver Donald Bowens, Texas running back Jamaal Charles and Colorado corner back Terrence Wheatley on the ballot list. Fans can determine the winner by text messaging VOTE to 87654 on their wireless phone.
Brennan, who won the award earlier this season, went 29-45 with 425 yards and six touchdowns in the undefeated Warriors’ 50-13 win over New Mexico State.

Yes, that is very good for the WAC to have two ranked teams.
It should be noted that there is only a single two-loss team (Georgia #10) ranked ahead of Hawaii in the coaches poll. Meanwhile, there arent any two-loss teams ahead of Hawaii in today’s Harris poll. This is why I never bought the theory that the parity and string of upsets this year somehow hurt Hawaii’s BCS chances. One loss begets two, and the pollsters are showing quite clearly that they are unwilling to put these two-loss teams ahead of undefeated Hawaii.
As I said weeks ago, an undefeated Hawaii team makes the BCS . . . and it wont be close.
all those losses ahead of us helped out big time. stepping back a bit, who woulda thunk we would be ranked ahead of michigan, usc, florida, texas, etc. un. be. lievable.
Hey Tombo … as a follow-up to your question last week … Derek said he’s not listing Colorado games yet because UH doesn’t have the contracts in hand yet. He said HF said they are a done deal, just final legal stuff before signatures. However, Colorado is listing the games on its web site.

The Warriors anthem is “Believe”, so Hawaii get out there and sell out the stadium and show your support. The team believes so it’s time to change the so-so attitude of Hawaii fans and start believing too. Stop believing the pundits and believe in our team…GO HAWAII!

Do you know what were the injuries to Malcolm Lane and Leon Wright-Jackson?
Malcolm said he got a painful rug burn when he got dragged on the horse collar tackle late in the game, but he said he’ll be fine.
Working on LWJ’s injury … I think it was an ankle sprain, but not sure.

The human polls are full of it. The BCS is full of bs. This is no way to determine to post-season for college football. This is nothing new said before but a playoff system needs to be in place comprised of schools with the best record from each conference of Division IA. Similar but not quite the same system used as the NCAA Basketball Tournament, the NFL, or MLB with the exception that there are no at-large or wild card berths that would diminish the teams’ regular season accomplishments. With that said, every school would have an equal shot for the national title. None of this token BCS bowl game for the non-BCS conference schools like Hawaii, Boise St., TCU, etc.
Unfortunately, this is how the system is currently set up and for now we have to work with the cards that are dealt with.
Though I have mixed feelings about the whole process at best just because Hawaii is receiving national recognition. With that said, I wish Hawaii well to make it all the way if they can. No matter what happens with UH this season, at least they have a winning season which we should not be ashamed of nor complain about.

I pick the incomplete pass to RGM in the back of the endzone. With all the passes he was dropping I was excited when he stretched out to catch that one. soooo close. He went on to be the leading receiver for the game.
After the first trio of runningbacks who is next in the depth chart?
Mario Cox is No. 4 I believe.
Best play on offense: Ryan Grice-Mullins’ 42 yard TD catch and run. Nice throw by Brennan and nice block by Hawthorne.
Best play on defense: JoPierre Davis’ 57 yard interception return for a TD. Anytime you can get a defensive TD, it’s all good.
Best play on special teams: Myron Newberry’s 29 yard punt return
(considering the regular punt return team was not even in the game).

I’m of the opinion that Solomon Elimimian would be a great strong safety, but obviously he’s pretty valuable where he’s at.
Avid warrior supporter living in Longhorn Country (Austin, TX). The sports writer for the local newspaper, The American Statesmen, has it in for our Warriors. He continues to belittle us with digs like “Hawaii needs to graduate out from jv league”, etc., and he polls the Warriors 10 positions below USA Today, BCS, and AP rankings, inspite of our 8-0 record and their 7-2 record, where Texas is polled below Hawaii. The latest “Statesman” poll shows the Longhorns ahead of the Warriors. Such arrogance! They’re pissed off because “our” Colt outshines “their” Colt by a mile.
That’s funny. They could barely beat a reeling Nebraska team at home.
My good friend from college, Mark Wangrin, lives in Austin and covers the Longhorns and college football in general, but he does it for the San Antonio paper. Maybe you should switch subscriptions.
