Thanks Pochonese. I personally wish the blogs do NOT have the power to erase mistakes so they remain archived forever! As in print!

      • Cindy Luis

actually I can edit mistakes in other’s posts but there are times that I don’t know they were mistakes unless asked to change something.

  • rayson

Cindy, that’s last week poll. The one that Pochonese posted is this weeks.

  • ZZZZzzzzz

LOL. I don’t know how they do it but I get the poll from that other Wahine blog usually between 8 and 8:30 every Monday. They only do the Top 10 but I don’t really care about the rest anyway.

A little later I found out that Hartong was BW POW ,45 minutes before it showed up on the BW web site.

  • vballfreak808

Congats to Hartong for her second award! I would say she is the leading candidate for Player of the Year.

Looking at last years All-Confernce teams, the first team had 16 players, honorable mention had 8, and All-Freshman team had 7.

I would say that Hartong, Uiato, Adolpho, and Croson all make first team and Vorster making All-Freshman team. Depending on how much production we see out of Kastl in the future, she could at least make honorable mention.

Hawaii is now downgraded to No. 26 in RPI

  • I know the Cal lost really hurt, but UH wins two on the road and Stanford goes to 1 in the computer generated RPI and UH spirals 5 down to 26? Looking at the teams rated above UH, I think I’ll stick to the coaches poll.

    • Cindy Luis

true but the RPI weighs much more heavily with the selection committee. The win over Stanford is helping UH but even beating two teams with that low of RPIs doesn’t help.
      Cal at 35 not helping.

    • The no volley IQ selection committee depends on a computer, figures. I think I’ll stick to the coaches poll, people who are really in the know.

      • Warrior-15

mauna — you might re-think your position after taking a look at the way some of the coaches on the AVCA poll vote. if you didn’t know, the AVCA is releasing that information now. it’s posted on their site. and it’s pretty revealing.

    • Warriorfan

Whats really hurting right now is how bad San Diego State, Long Beach, Baylor ( 0 wins in big 12) are doing. Before the season I thought all three would be up around the top 30 in RPI.

      • Warrior-15

I think what’s hurting Hawaii’s RPI more is that 8 teams on Hawaii’s schedule have losing records. 6 of those 8 are Big West teams, so Hawaii has to play them twice.

Only CSUN, Pacific and Long Beach St have winning records in the Big West. And LBSU is barely hanging on to a .500 record.

That pretty much sums up why Hawaii’s RPI dropped from a high of 12 (during the non-conference portion of schedule earlier in the season) … down to its current 26 in the middle of Big West play.

        • I always look at that. When you have 60 people involved there’s always a few that are not in sync, with the time difference or not truly of the teams opponents and wins and losses against whom. 45 to 50 coaches keeping up with what’s really going on with the top teams is my guess.

It’s kinda like how you guys *UH Warriors* performed in 2011…

You came off of a good season in 2010, had some momentum going into a new year, and then what?: fut is what!!! The Outrigger tourney’s start ending up being a dictator of all that was coming for the rest of 2011 (YOUR Sr. year).

Preseasons are usually a good indicator of what will inevitably follow. What? you, personally, thought that you were Serena Williams?!

*The moral/pshyche of a a sport’s team is ever in a precarious balance; there are a total of six individuals on the court at any given time.
