Melody Toth’s book going to press
By Cindy Luis
Former UH training Melody Toth has finished her book “Let’s Go ‘Bows” and it’s off to be printed. Received a few advanced chapters and I think anyone with an interested in Wahine volleyball and UH sports in general will enjoy the “insider” look. It brought back some memories for me. Don’t know if she mentioned how she rescued me and my suitcase (it was at either the ‘87 or ‘88 final four) but the zipper broke in the lobby as I was heading for the airport. She pulled out her athletic tape and wrapped it. Glad I didn’t have to open it until I landed. I would have been in trouble. Book should be in out in September. Melody will be her then. Congrats to her.

Can’t wait to read the book and hear what it was really like from an insiders perspective. Do you know who will be taking over Kari Anderson’s spot as the assistant now that she has a baby. My daughter was at camp and saw that she had just given birth. I heard that someone else is taking her place for the season, but not sure who it is. Any chance it could be Ah Mow after she’s done at the olympics?

Yes, Kari won’t be on the bench as a coach this year. Paperwork hasn’t been approved. Will let you know sometime this week.

Yes, Melody Toth is such a verrry important Key member in all of Dave Shoji’s high contending championship years … such a wealth of medical information and various help throughout her many years at UH. Great fixture … a solid foundation that makes Hawaii proud to have her!!!

It will be good to see her next month. Her mom recently passed away and dad is hanging in there.

Where can we get the book. Can’t wait.
Trainer Mel is one of the most fun loving employees the lower campus will ever see.
Cindy, please nominate her for the UH Hall of Honor. Trainer Mel has played an important role in the history of the Rainbow Wahine.
