More proactive recruiting from McMackin
By Dave Reardon
Greg McMackin once again shows he’s serious about recruiting. Yesterday he told me of plans to host a “junior day,” a recruiting concept which several of you have brought up and is growing in popularity. The event will be held in conjunction with the April 25 spring game and will include a tour of the program for the high school prospects, as well as a barbecue (the prospects will have to pay for the food per NCAA rules).Other upcoming dates to remember: UH’s Pro Day will again be at the Home Depot center in Carson, Calif., April 2; Spring practice starts March 30, with scrimmages on Saturdays (including, likely one on Maui, April 11). And the Na Koa golf tournament is set for April 14 at the Hawaii Prince. Also, Dr. Don Weir has been named executive director of Na Koa.

Hooray for Mack! another good move on his part.
Good to come back from vacation and read about his 2 latest hires. They bring much needed experience to two important positions.

I’m anxious to see how the latest hires translates to game time performance. I expect good things from our O-line and creative Special Teams play.

‘Junior Day’ sounds like a great idea. About how many juniors are they planning on inviting/attending?

great news Dave…it should continue to pay huge dividends for us long term! Also heard that in addition to the two new coaching hires, we’ll be getting a new grad assistant from Texas Tech/Ravens. Appears be another nice addition. Go Warriors/Coach Mack!!!!

The question should be WHO are they inviting? Is it possible to get a list of the guys invited Dave?
