MPSF semifinals: UCSB, USC win

Gauchos win 25-17, 26-28, 25-20, 25-23.

Trojans win 25-19, 22-25, 25-20, 25-23

will be very interesting if SC wins who would get the at-large.
I don’t see BYU, since Cougars didn’t make it to the semis.

Don’t you mean if SC wins? I would think SC dominating the regular season and #1 for much of the season and runner up in the tournament would be a shoo-in for an at-large. If USC does win, does the at-large go to UCSB? or does the league season runner-up or some other get the selection?

thanks Robin. typing too quickly. if SC doesn’t lose … UCSB a hard sell as the 7th seed in the mpsf but certainly deserving, given the road that started at BYU.

So to sum up next year’s men’s recruits:

    Brook Sedore 6′5″ OH
    JJ Mosolf 6′6″ Opp/M
    Jan Phillip Marks 6′5″ OH

and per a very reliable poster on Volley Talk:
    Stan Hinkle 6’5″ OH
    Brian Bieth 6’6″ Opp/M

    also
    Dominic Lile 6′2″ S
    and one more setter

and 2 transfers: one of whom can play M and S

I’m so looking forward to next season for both the men and women. It’s going to be a long summer.

    Very excited about this class.
Sedore and Marks seem like the real deal. While Hinkle, Mosolf and Bieth all are very athletic. Mosolf touches 11′ 8 , that’s higher than Josh Walker. the kid may be touching near 12 feet as a senior.

sounds like a great group of guys. Curious, where’d you see/hear jj mosolf can touch 11’8? if true, thats amazing.

never mind, I found in a recent Staradvertiser article, it says he can touch 11’8″ on a “standing jump” im guessing they meant approach jump.

You can tell JJ is a leaper in all his photos as well. It’s good to know UH will have someone waiting in the wings to take over after Jonas.
But hopefully JJ gets on the court earlier on the left. He definitely has olympic calibre athleticism , hope he works hard and reaches his full potential while at UH.

Hinkle is no slouch touching 11′ 2. and Sedore looks very solid in a video I saw of him. Marks is the top left side hitter on the german junior team, so he must be good.

Dominic Lile- 6’3 (San Clemente/ OCVC) is a great pickup after Travis Magorien decomitted. This is a exciting class hopefully they bring home a championship.
