This won’t affect Welch’s status will it? I was assumming he was redshirting. which is a good idea IMO.
UH wins 25-19, 25-19, 21-25, 25-23.
thanks for the stats update.
I don’t know about Welch. I had been told that he wasn’t going to redshirt, that they were just waiting for him to heal.
but exhibition shouldn’t count against him so believe redshirt year still in play.
I think they should redshirt Welch if possible. They have already played over half the season and Lofy is doing well enough and it’s his senior year. West has MB1 locked up.
Welsh looked good at times , he even made a nice set but he is rusty and needs reps to pick up his speed if he is going to contribute this year. Holt also didn’t look that bad. West needs to put on some muscle. Sam continued his ratio of one bad set for every two good ones. He sets too close to the net too often. The Japanese team was very gutty and fun to watch. Their ritual after a “roof” was interesting. Entertaining night at the Stan.
Why are these exhibition games being played? Was it just to fill the schedule so they don’t have a open weekend between last weekend and next weekend?
yes, to fill the schedule. you’ll notice they have nothing scheduled for the two weeks between their last match at UCSB and the mpsf first round. that is, if they make it to the playoffs.
Kalei went straight from VB to BB, so once BB pau, she’ll go back to VB practices, I guess. Shes playing way more in BB than VB and rebounding is probably good for middles.
Im at the Nittaidai game2.. Uh split one a piece.
After observing the men play.. I can say the problem w our system is that Biscaro is not a very deceptive setter. I’m sure he’s a real nice guy and all.. But his setting skills are just not very good for this level. We need someone more vocal, deceptive, athletic and passion. It’s not our hitters cause we have the firepower.. It’s just I’ve seen so many trap sets, it’s caused me to leave the arena after 2 games.
Agreed!! Coaches really need to go out and recruit a better setter. Not impressed with frosh Dom Lile either ( but I heard he’s just a walk on)
Example the Nittaidai setter is what 5’8 is very very intelligent , quick and deceptive and runs a good offense. With what they have they dominated uh on gm2. I’m just saying…
