anyone know what happened to Kamehameha standout Caitlin Andrade? Shes not playing her senior year at San Jose State…which is a huge blow to the program. She was a Kanoe Kamanao!
Big West Facebook says ” Oceanic Time Warner Cable will be covering the Rainbow Wahine matches this weekend & streaming them online for us FREE of charge!
Believe the Big West is mistaken. There is a fee according to UH.
Cindy,
Very nice article you wrote, in Wednesday’s S/A. Real sneaky, you never mentioned you were writing one. It was a pleasant surprise to see the article written by you. Thank you, for all your hard work.
Oh please Steve there was nothing there that we didn’t already know.
Vinny,
True, but Cindy was nice enough and took the time to write the article, even tho she is not the beatwriter. Also, not everyone reads this blog.
Ann had Tuesday off. I covered for her. I had Wednesday off. Very true there wasn’t much new.
AVCA Announces 2012 College Volleyball Showcase
(Pac-12 Network’s to feature Pac-12 Elites vs. Chinese Volleyball Team)

‘Ay’ (VT) must be offended that U-Dub, Wa. is NOT included.
:p
That Chinese team is also playing Pepperdine, but you would never know it unless you got to the bottom of the article at that link.
Good to know which schools and conferences the AVCA isn’t playing favorites when it comes to promoting certain schools and conferences. ::)
For a week now the excitement of another season has been building. Some have high expectations and others are keeping it on the down low.
The preseason schedule is where the fans tend to start drawing conclusions about the rest of the season. In some places on the internet, come next Monday, some will start talking about who will be in the Final Four, all based on one weekend of competition.
Silly you say ? Well,of course it is.The best teams in the NCAA get to be the best teams in the NCAA because they continue to work hard and improve as the season progresses.A season is always a work in progress even if your roster is loaded with all dis-n-dats.
How this Wahine team will fair this season I do not know but the fun part is taking them one at a time and growing with them. Can you smell the garlic fries?
WOW , very well said fake Vinny. You should be writing for the SA.
WOW! Are you responsible for diggingnawahine? Saw that pc earlier.
For the latest most up to date information on Wahine volleyball, check out my totally awesome blog, http://diggingnawahine.blogspot.com/
so much better than articles.
I prefer Not By Reason and VT myself.I’ve been a member of VT since it was part of Roll Shot.
Leave the coach’s son alone.
Who’s picking on Shoji’s sons? Btw, they both should be in Europe playing volleyball, right now.
Both Shoji boys will be playing in Germany. Erik left last week. not sure when Kawika is leaving
Not By Reason blog has these really neat printable lineup cards for every home match this season. Very nice job.
Wolfgang is cool! who would compare him to someone soo lame??
Cindy,
Will you be attending this afternoon’s practice? If so, will be asking Shoji for his starting lineup on Friday? Shoji did say he would have a starting lineup be the end of Wednesday’s practice.
didn’t go Wednesday. had the day off.
Some days it’s just so weird on this blog. Today is one of those days.
Wondering where Cindy is. If she attended this afternoon’s practice. Hope Cindy did not go into hiding, due to some people, who got her very upset, yesterday.
No, had Wednesday off. Didn’t know that I ‘go into hiding’. Wasn’t upset by anything yesterday.
Cindy – Can you verify the link to the streaming of the volleyball games?
The link provided on the UH web site isn’t working: http://www.secure.oceanic.com/Streaming
There is another link that I found, but it contains no info:
https://secure.oceanic.com/Streaming/
I don’t think the link works until match starts.
But then, how do people get info or order the streams ahead of time?
good question. I was just venturing a guess. I’ve never ordered it
Cindy,
Will you be attending Thursday afternoon’s practice? Also, what happened at Wednesday’s practice, did Shoji announce a starting lineup?
Does anyone remember the website that lists all the upcoming NCAA womens volleyball livestat games?
That could be Lateral Sports. Don’t have the link, so you have to do some research.
I don’t think Lateral Sports is any longer in the score reporting business.
ESPN has a volleyball scoreboard. Some matches are already listed but just a few and I don’t know how many they will cover.I wasn’t aware this even existed just stumbled on it.
http://scores.espn.go.com/ncaa/scoreboard?date=20120825&sport=wvolleyball
Do you mean Gametracker?
If so, there is a link to it on the Volleytalk web site (near the bottom).
Gametracker: http://www.cstv.com/gametracker/scoreboard/gt_scoreboard_wvolley.html?camefrom=770385&startschool=pur&event=784118&sport=wvolley&school=&
thanks for the link.
Alright, now I can have a good day, Cindy is back!!!!
Cindy,
Since you will not be attending Thursday’s practice, does that mean, we will have to wait till game time, to find out who will be starting at RS and the 2 MB positions?
Steve, Ann is at practice today. I’m assuming she’ll have something for Friday.
I will be at the Waterman Hall of Fame to do a story tonight.
Big West made a deal with Oceanic. Streaming is free for this weekend’s matches.
thanks. was just passing along with UH told us about the streaming. that there was a fee.
So Cindy’s predicted lineup will start vs. Albany. Hartong/Croson at OH, Adolpho/Vorster at MB, Uiato at setter with Goodman OPP and Longo as libero. And Maeda will be top DS.
Hopefully there is a little write-up on Albany’s Home Grown talent, Kalaheo’s Gabby Whitworth.
Boise State WILL be part of the Big West in 2013
1/3 of the season through, Croson “tires” of being LH.
1/2 the season through, Hartong has an epiphany about NOT being thee star athlete on this team…it’ll be curious to see how she ‘rebounds’ by such revelation.
@ the end of the season, Shoji realizes his MANY mistakes made throughout this ’12 campaign.
Why all the negativity?
*Stanford has a purpose/fire to dominate this season
*UH will NOT beat UCLA this season…no way, no how
*LBSU is not much without their star.
Shoji’s time is just about over; good for him however in EVERY aspect that it entails.

NO pilikia, hah?!
I’ve been accused of being wolfgang many times but I’m a lot taller and better looking.
Vinny,
I do like your blog, “not by reason” blog has pictures of libraries, etc., sometimes, not really to my liking.
Sure would be nice to have the 2012 Media Guide put up on the team web page.
If anyone’s interested, Dave Shoji was on the Leahey & Leahey show tonight at 7:30.
If anyone missed it & wants to see it, the show will air again tonight at either 11 or 11:30 on channel 10 (cable subscribers), 90 or 10 (digital subscribers).
you can always contact the sports information department with your request.
