hey cindy, VT have rumors about a brazilian middle blocker recruit for the wahine’s next season…you know anything about that?

  • Cindy Luis December 31, 2010 at 2:22 pm

Nope, rumors have been up on VT for a couple years now I believe. will check in with Shoji next week.

  • warriorfan January 1, 2011 at 11:38 pm

Another rumor, Tabi Love transferring out of Minnesota. Wasn’t Hawaii her second choice??? Hmmmm makes me wonder .

  • Yabba-Dabba-Doo January 2, 2011 at 8:06 am

True that because of Hebert’s retirement the players have the option to transfer if they wish.

Tabi Love’s dad is registered on VT and makes frequent postings. If he isn’t denying the rumors on VT then it is possible something is in the works but I wouldn’t get into the speculation game because I’ve read the statements and they are very vague.

Love made her original choice based on being close to home.If that is still a priority for her then some Pac 10 schools may come into play like both Oregon schools and Washington, if they have a scholarship available .

Love is more mature now and her decision making process has probably changed.Being close to home may no longer be a high priority.

Time will tell what happens with many of the Minnesota players.Whoever the new head coach is could make the difference for some.Dave has one more 2012 scholarship left maybe he will hear from her .

    • warriorfan January 2, 2011 at 4:15 pm

I hope Shoji hears from her, Tabi Love has shown she plays her best in the NCAA tournament. Plus she is 6′ 6.
If she is looking for a new school I wouldn’t be surprised if she contacts Sealy as well.

  • Cindy Luis January 2, 2011 at 10:11 pm

Don’t know if Hawaii was No. 2. I did meet her her here during summer camp when she was looking at schools. She’s be a great get if she came out. And she did like it out here.
I believe she could transfer and play right away if getting a release from the school. has nothing to do with Hebert retiring. the one-year sitting out has to do with inter-conference transfers (i.e. Amanda Gil sitting out when going to UW from UCLA). Or if current school refused to release her.

  • jeff January 2, 2011 at 10:44 pm

penn st and nebraska to battle this year should be fun usc will be #1 pre season the wahine well just wait and see

  • Yabba-Dabba-Doo January 4, 2011 at 7:58 am

Love’s dad likes Sealy that I know for sure, has spoken highly of him many times and even has him listed in his “Jeremy Likes” section of his Facebook page but I’m not sure Sealy has a 2011 scholarship. Actually I’m not even sure Love is leaving Minnesota, just a rumor right now.

  • Cindy Luis January 5, 2011 at 3:17 pm

    yep, just a rumor

Ever thought about what separates a great coach and mentor from the rest? And why great coaches get results while other get frustrated? “The biggest MISTAKE most people make about a coach is: They mistake a COACH for a BABY SITTER A BABY SITTER tells kids in a nice way that they need to do what they are told to do in a soft and caring voice as to not upset the child. A great baby sitter will smile when the child is throwing a tantrum. A COACH on the other hand is hired to get the best out of a person. They are not there to smile and tell a person what they want to hear. They are hired to get a result because they care about outcomes and getting the most out of a person. A great coach does not play stupid games with irresponsible people who think they want to get the best from themselves yet fail to show it in their actions. This is why great coaches Drop average players from their team all the time. When ADULTS hire a coach, it is not the coaches responsibility to do the work, run the laps or sweat. That’s what the player does. Coaches see how the player can best suit the game and find their unique talents and gifts, then put them in a position to win. If the player fails to turn up, then a good coach will drop the lazy, irresponsible player in turn for the player with a good attitude who is prepared to put in the work to succeed. Next time you are thinking about hiring a coach, just remember the best coaches drop lazy, irresponsible players all the time as they value their years of hard work, learning the art of what they coach and pride themselves on success. If you want to be a great player in the game of life or business; action, implementation and great communication is the key. “Make shit happen”. Great coaches love great clients or great players on their team.

quick question that I’d like to ask if you don’t mind.
I was curious to know how you center yourself and
clear your mind prior to writing. I’ve had a hard time
clearing my thoughts in getting my ideas out there.
I do enjoy writing but it just seems like the first 10 to 15 minutes are usually lost simply just trying
to figure out how to begin. Any ideas or hints?
    Cheers!
