By Cindy Luis

Was told the offiial announcement would come sometime today from UH.Hawaii has signed two incoming sophomore transfers. Corinne Cascioppo is a 6-3 rightside hitter from Mesa State College. Alexis Forsythe is a 6-4 middle from Houston Baptist.  The two were recruited by UH two years ago but it didn’t happen. Paperwork and transcripts finally got done yesterday

Great to see we got some height. Just how good are these two young ladies?

  2. Cindy Luis Says:

I know they were looked at while in high school by UH. they played well as freshmen. think they’re a bit beyomd the ‘project’ stage. one was a Senior Ace by VBM.

  3. Daphne Moon Says:

Cascioppo was a 2008 Prepvolleyball Senior Ace ranked 57th. Forsythe was also a 2008 Senior Ace but wasn’t ranked in the top 100. Cascioppo was also a Volleyball Mag Fab 50.
Both have a close relationship that goes back to high school and both played for 951 Elite VBC in California.

thanks for all the help as usual. had been told the two were good friends.

Can they play when the lights go on and the points count for real?
I would hope they would be beyond projects ’cause for the Wahine to move forward we can’t be taking on anymore “projects”.
The game has gotten more vertical over the years and it looks like Coach has finally gotten it into his head that he has got to stop recruiting hitters who are shorter than 6-2 and middles who are shorter than 6-4. If the player is shorter than that, they better be absolutely phenomenal.
Hopefully, we can have 2 different middles in the lineup this year with Kaufman odd wahine out. She is not big enough of a presence in the middle, both offensively and defensively.
If Kaufman is still starting in the middle, then I know the other middles that we have are not that good and we will once again have an early exit from the tournament. I don’t care about the WAC conference or WAC tournament, just THE TOURNAMENT.
