The way I look at it Penn State is still the Champ until someone knocks them out of post season. The three losses must be a humbling experience for this proud program.
I wouldn’t want the Wahine to meet them again unless it’s in the Final Four. I think it was Rudy T, the Houston Rockets coach, who said never underestimate the heart of a champion, after his team won a 2nd championship after being counted out earlier in the season.
I wonder how Stephanie feels now that she is not playing as much as she was in Hawaii. I wonder if she understood that she was not going to be playing as much. Just curious.
BTW, both UCLA and USC lost in 4 to Cal and Stanford respectively.
Don’t know if Ferrell is injured again or not, or just not playing.
Ferrell is definitely not injured. She is on the bench and comes in occasionally when a starter is faltering. Her statistics are not too bad; she is hitting .333 but obvious not well enough to displace any of the starting outside hitters. I imagine that it is quite a disappointment for Ferrell since she was a starter at Hawaii.
Thanks for the update. I wasn’t sure of her status.
Guess Farrell is finding out the grass is not always greener on the other side of the hill.
Don’t know if it was Shoji pushing the right buttons or Farrell stepping it up on her own. But her elevated play in the post season was the boost the Wahine needed to make it to the final four.
Hope Hatong, Waber, Satele or some else can elevate their game in the post season like Farrell did last year.
Towards the end of last season, Ferrell was almost 100 percent. People tend to forget she broke her leg in spring and UH was not expecting her back until late in the season. She surprised them by being back to start the season.
Postseason 2 months away. plenty of time for the newcomers to grow into their roles.
The Pac-10 (this year) is going to convolute NCAA seedings for EVERYBODY this season. Jeez! When the heck is Stanford going to lose??? Is anybody, but me, tired of them winning all of the time (year after year…#1, 2, or 3). Good grief!!!
Stanford didn’t make the final four last year. nor the elite eight.
haha, yeah Cindy, Stanford didn’t even make the top 8, I can understand forgetting a couple years ago but how can he forget last year? Good Grief! lol
UH should have beaten USC. If it wasn’t for Fuller’s career night or Satele’s/wabers bad match, I think UH would have.
Oh well, hope for the rematch in the NCAA tourney( but not in the second round again)
I agree with most of the people in saying that Ferrell should’ve stayed at UH. She would’ve been a big force for the wahine and have a lot more playing time as a starter. A lot of us wonder what was she thinking in her decision. About the wahine, I’m not worried one iota that Ferrells not here. We’ve got a great team just the way they are and we know they’ll only get better than they are right now. I agree UH should’ve won the game against USC and I think the wahine realize that also. I’m proud of all our wahine in all locations that they play. And people, we do have a lot of fire-power if needed from our outside hitters and middles especially with Brittany as the #1 blocker and our super freshmen. I think coach Shoji have our team just where he want them to be and I can’t wait to see them gel and blossom the the explosive offensive and defensive team that they can be. Good luck with the rest of you season Wahine. We’re all behind you….IMUA!
Penn State lost again !
PSU lost to Indiana 3-1. They should take a tumble in the polls.Considering that we we’re idol will we move up ?
Just over,#6 Illinois also lost to Michigan. Cal vs USC coming up could be interesting,Cal is unbeaten so far.
I got the score from RichKern.
Thanks. I trust you and Rich.
yes, 2 losses will definitly drop PSU and Hawaii will move up by default.
Did Penn State just lose again?
