So Stanford and Nebraska are the most popular regional sites. My guess is that Hawaii is excluded because of its remoteness from the mainland. It’s cheaper for the NCAA to host all its regionals on the mainland. That’s the price of island paradise – rare regionals and still rarer Final Four Championship site.

I am sad, especially given Hawaii’s proven ability to fill an arena, and especially after witnessing that marathon game against USC in the last regional Hawaii participated in. I hope the NCAA at least gives Hawaii the chance to host a subregional this season.

That said, there are many other schools in the NCAA that deserve just as much as Hawaii to host regionals. I hope these regionals help build the sport at their schools, and the sport in general.

(I am a cornhuskers fan, but the NCAA’s obsession with the Qwest Center bothers me.)

That, and its not like the Wahine have been a hot charging team that can power its way to a final 4 nowdays. Could Hawai’i still get a sub-regional hosting?

I’ve become accustom to the way the NCAA operates so I’m not really all that worked up over this.Complaining seems to bring even more snubs or retribution from these control freaks

I’m also wondering if UH even put in a bid ? With the high cost of transporting teams to Hawai’i right now I’m not sure how profitable it would be to host under the present economic situation.

At least the 2008 WAC tournamnet will be at UH, we can really show the WAC/NCAA that Hawaii will make a lot of $$$$$. I’m wondering how much the WAC tournament package will be, not included in the season ticket prices.
