Salas in great shape … notes from Day 2

Count sophomore wide receiver Greg Salas among the Warriors who spent the time between the end of spring practice and the start of fall camp wisely.
He’s up to 200 pounds on his 6-foot-2 frame and looks like he’s poised for a big year.

Freshman defensive linemen Haku Correa and Geordon Hanohano continued to observe today and said they hope to be ready to roll tomorrow.

J.P. Davis ran with the first team at cornerback as Jameel Dowling took care of some summer school stuff.

According to Coach Greg McMackin’s plan, the Warriors will start 7-on-7 drills tomorrow. Practice is from 4 to 6 p.m. both tomorrow and Thursday.

I spoke with Gainesville Sun columnist Pat Dooley today. He said the Gators practiced at 6 a.m. yesterday to avoid the heat.
